Day #5 waiting for my refund. Based on my conversation with the initial sales person, I felt like this was a solid company. Was pressured to put a deposit on the "Great Deal" they gave me, because it was only that price because they "Just had a cancelation for our moving date." After reading some reviews, it sounds like that is there "Go to close" when booking customers.
Instead of researching companies before doing business, I jumped the gun and gave them a deposit. I also started reading my contract carefully. According to their contract, to be eligible for a refund, cancelation my happen with in 48 hours of making the reservation. I cancelled inside the 48 hours. After having to listen to a bunch of stories about how busy and reliable they are, they finally agreed to process my refund. I was told my refund would be sent in 3-5 days.
So, here I am on day 5. Called again this morning to check the status of my refund. Woman from customer service told me that my refund has been approved. But, according to the contract I signed, refunds will be issued 30 days from date of cancelation.
After reading so many other reviews about how bad this company is, I should not be surprised. Many of the same experiences over and over that I had with the salesman. An once I saw all the shady stuff about charging customers more at time of pick up (or they would not load the truck) or charging more on delivery (or they will not release the customers property) I knew I needed to cancel right away.
So, they get to hold my $1,700+ deposit hostage for who knows how long? 30 days? Absolute BS. No wonder why their reviews are so bad. What business sense does it make to hold my money for 30 days? Is it simply retaliation for me canceling? They surely don't care to make any effort to try to improve their customer service or anything else about the company's reputation.
If my deposit is returned to me in a timely fashion, I will remove this review. I was willing to just keep my reason for canceling to myself, as I had no bad experience personally up to that point. But, now I see why there are so many bad reviews and upset customers.
Update 4/7/26
I was happy that Mr Menard called me yesterday to address my concern. He agreed that I was well within my rights to my refund and would be happy to execute it right away. But then he said to me that he is happy to help me, but would like me to help him by taking my review down. I told him that I would be happy to take the review down, once my money was back in my account.
I was threatened with legal action from my review, stating that I am damaging or slandering his business. I explained that I have not said one word in the review that was not true. He said that if he refunds me the money first, he has no guarantee that I will take the post down.
This morning, I called the customer service number. They explained that Mr Menard called me yesterday, stating that he was taking care of my refund, and that I was checking the status on that. The gentleman I spoke to said that the managers come in at noon and work until 8 pm. That call was at 11:48 this morning. He also said that he would check on it for me and send m an e mail. He recited my e mail address to me which he had right in front of him.
It’s now 5:48 pm. No e mail from them and no call back. So, I called the customer service number again. No answer. Hmmm. I have no alternative or leverage to get my refund, than to update here, as I cannot get a response or update from them.
Mr Menard. This will all go away if you would just refund my money. I will remove my review and go on with life. I have better things to do than spending time every day, trying to recoup my $1,700. Might not be a lot of money to you, but it is to me.
Update 4/8/26. So I've called the customer service number again today, politely asking if I can get a status update on my refund. They will only say that I should be getting a call back, or an e mail, updating me on my refund. All day today....no call, no e mail.
So now I tried the phone number that Joseph Menard called me from. The caller ID says Joseph Menard. The first call, it sounded like someone answered and then hung up. I called the number again. The old 1 ring and straight to voice mail. But, the voice mail box is full.
I will not post that phone number at this time, as I do not want to do anything that would create a problem that slows down my refund.
The only recourse I have left is to file a complaint with the Attorney General of Florida, which I have just submitted.
Mr Menard. Please call me to discuss and expedite my refund. Once I have my money back, I still promise to take this review down and go on with my life. I don't have time for these games. But, I am too educated to be taken advantage of like this. If you want my cooperation, you need to call me.
