Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 2026
Marketing Monkeys Ltd., a company incorporated in England ("My Good Movers", "we", "us" or "our"), owns and operates the online marketplace and lead-generation service available at mygoodmovers.com (the "Platform").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, transfer, and protect personal information when you visit our website, submit a moving quote request, use the moving cost calculator, register as a moving company, publish a review, or interact with the Platform in any other way.
We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including relevant U.S. federal and state requirements (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act — CCPA/CPRA) and other consumer protection rules that may apply to our services.
This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals who interact with the Platform, including:
- consumers researching or requesting moving quotes;
- independent moving companies that create accounts or receive leads;
- reviewers who submit feedback; and
- any other visitors or users who provide personal information to us.
- By accessing the Platform or submitting any personal information, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Our Role and Important Limitations
My Good Movers is an independent online marketplace and lead-generation platform only. We enable consumers to submit relocation details and allow independent moving companies to respond directly to those inquiries.
We do not provide, perform, arrange, broker, supervise, guarantee, or participate in moving, packing, storage, transportation, or any related relocation services. We are not an agent, broker, carrier, employer, partner, or verifier for any moving company. We do not independently verify pricing, availability, service quality, licensing, insurance coverage, or performance.
All communications, negotiations, quotes, contracts, service delivery, payments, and dispute resolution occur directly and exclusively between you (the consumer) and the moving company. We have no involvement in, control over, or liability for those private interactions or their outcomes.
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
Marketing Monkeys Ltd. is the primary entity responsible for the personal information collected through the Platform. For privacy questions, data rights requests, complaints, or any other privacy-related matter, please contact us at [email protected]
3. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy covers personal information we collect directly through the Platform, including:
- information you provide through quote forms, the cost calculator, account registration, reviews, or direct messages;
- technical and usage data automatically collected via cookies, server logs, pixels, and similar technologies.
Once we forward your inquiry to one or more independent moving companies (with your consent), any further use of your information by those companies is governed by their privacy policies — not ours. Upon receipt, each moving company becomes an independent controller of the shared personal information and is solely responsible for its own compliance with applicable privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA, TCPA, and any others). We strongly recommend reviewing a mover's privacy notice before sharing additional details or engaging their services.
4. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate the Platform as a neutral lead-generation service. We do not collect sensitive information such as government-issued IDs, precise geolocation, financial account details, or health data from consumers.

Public review content
When you submit a review, the following may appear publicly: your name (if provided), origin/destination cities or states, move size category, cost (if included), and the full review text. This content is visible to all visitors and may be indexed by search engines.
Automatically collected data
- IP address
- browser type and version
- device type and identifiers
- operating system
- pages visited, referring/exit sources, clickstream/navigation patterns
- date, time, and duration of visits
This technical information helps us keep the site running smoothly, understand how people use it, improve features, and identify potential security issues.
5. Purposes for Which We Use Your Information
We use personal information only for purposes directly related to running and improving our lead-generation marketplace. These purposes include:
- receiving and forwarding quote requests to suitable independent moving companies so they can respond;
- allowing registered moving companies to view and reply to leads assigned to them;
- managing mover accounts, subscriptions, and secure payment processing;
- publishing and displaying reviews to help consumers make informed decisions;
- operating, maintaining, securing, and continually improving the Platform's functionality and user experience;
- generating anonymised usage statistics and performance insights;
- detecting and preventing fraud, misuse, security incidents, or unauthorised activity;
- complying with legal obligations (e.g., record-keeping, responding to valid legal requests);
- enforcing our Terms of Service and protecting our legal rights.
We do not use your information for automated decisions with significant legal effects, nor do we create individual consumer profiles for unrelated third-party marketing.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
We process personal information on one or more of the following legal bases, depending on the circumstances and applicable law:
- necessity to provide the services you request (for example, transmitting your quote details to moving companies);
- our legitimate business interests (such as preventing fraud, maintaining site security, improving the Platform, and publishing reviews), provided these interests are balanced against your rights and freedoms;
- your consent (for non-essential cookies, tracking technologies, or optional marketing communications — which you can withdraw at any time);
- compliance with legal obligations (for example, retaining records as required by tax, accounting, or regulatory rules).
For users in the United States, we handle personal information in accordance with applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) where relevant.
7. Sharing Your Personal Information
We share personal information only when necessary and with appropriate safeguards. Under the CCPA/CPRA, "sale" and "sharing" are defined broadly. Forwarding your quote details to independent moving companies in exchange for payment, and our use of advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads that transmit information to third-party ad platforms, may each constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under that broad definition, even though we do not sell data in the traditional sense. Accordingly, California residents (and residents of states with similar laws) have the right to opt out of this sale/sharing, as described in Section 13 below and via the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link available on the Platform. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals. Upon receipt of the shared personal information, each moving company acts as an independent controller with respect to the personal information it receives and determines its own purposes and means of processing that data.
With moving companies
When you submit a quote request, we share your name, contact details (email address and phone number), origin and destination locations, intended moving dates, and the approximate size or contents of your move — together with any additional comments you choose to include — with up to three independent moving companies. By submitting, you consent to this sharing and to direct contact from those companies (phone, email, SMS/text — including automated/prerecorded messages where permitted) about moving estimates and services.
With service providers
We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, analytics, payment processing, and other essential functions. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for our purposes.
Your right to opt out of sale/sharing
You have the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. You may exercise this right at any time by (a) clicking the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer, (b) enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we will honor as a valid opt-out request, or (c) emailing . We do not discriminate against you for exercising this right.
Other disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety or rights, or in connection with a corporate transaction (e.g., merger or asset sale) — always with appropriate protections.
8. Consent to Contact from Moving Companies
Submitting a quote request gives the receiving moving companies your prior express written consent to contact you regarding moving services, estimates, and availability. This may include telephone calls (including automated dialing or prerecorded messages where permitted), emails, or SMS/text messages.
This consent is not required to use the Platform or hire a mover — it exists only to enable responses to your inquiry. To stop future contact from a specific mover, follow their opt-out instructions (usually included in their messages). Each moving company is independently responsible for compliance with the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and similar laws.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, log files, and similar technologies to:
- support essential site functions (e.g., form memory during a session);
- analyse usage and performance (e.g., Google Analytics);
- measure advertising effectiveness (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Pixel where used).
Advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads transmit information about your visit to those companies, which may be treated as "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA. See Section 7 for how to opt out. You can manage or disable most cookies via your browser settings, but this may affect site features. Where required by law, we will provide appropriate consent mechanisms.
10. International Transfers
We and the service providers we rely on to operate the Platform (such as for hosting and analytics) store and process personal information primarily in the United States, and may also process it in other countries in which our corporate group or service providers operate, including the United Kingdom. Wherever your information is stored or processed, we require comparable safeguards to be applied to help protect it in line with applicable privacy laws.
11. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to meet legal obligations, or to resolve disputes:
- consumer quote requests and leads — generally up to 24 months (to allow follow-up, dispute handling, and analytics);
- mover account and billing data — for the duration of the relationship plus any legally required retention period;
- published reviews — indefinitely unless removed following a valid request or moderation action;
- technical logs — for shorter periods needed for security and performance.
When no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
12. How We Protect Your Information
We maintain reasonable technical, organisational, and administrative safeguards, including:
- encryption of data in transit;
- restricted access to systems;
- secure third-party payment processing (no full card details stored by us);
- regular security reviews and updates;
- staff training on data protection.
While we take these measures seriously, no online system can guarantee 100% security. If a breach occurs that poses a high risk to individuals, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights including:
- access to the personal information we hold about you;
- correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- deletion of your information (subject to exceptions);
- restriction of processing in certain cases;
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdrawal of consent where we rely on it;
- portability of your data in a usable format.
Where you ask us to exercise these rights, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on the request, aim to respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for example, within 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA, extendable by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary), and let you know if a request is declined and why — for example, where an exception applies or we cannot verify who is making the request. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf provided we can verify both the agent's authority and your identity. Please note that once a lead has been transmitted to one or more independent moving companies, we cannot recall or delete that copy of your information from their systems; any request to remove information already held by a moving company should be directed to that company directly.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
We collect (and may collect in the future) categories of personal information such as identifiers (e.g., name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (e.g., move details you provide), and internet or electronic network activity (e.g., browsing patterns, device information). As described in Section 7, certain disclosures to independent moving companies and advertising partners may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. You may request disclosure of collected categories, deletion, correction, or opt-out of sale/sharing (including via the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link or a Global Privacy Control signal). Submit requests to [email protected]; we may verify identity and will respond within statutory timeframes.
To exercise rights, email [email protected]. If unsatisfied, you may complain to the relevant authority).
14. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended only for individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. Parents/guardians concerned about a child's information should contact [email protected].
15. Reviews and Public Content
By submitting a review or other content, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute it on the Platform.
You are fully responsible for the accuracy, legality, and non-infringing nature of your submissions. We do not verify content and disclaim liability for it. Public reviews may remain accessible and searchable indefinitely. Movers may dispute reviews; we consider disputes individually and may edit/remove violating content at our discretion.
16. Third-Party Links & Embedded Content
The Platform may link to or embed content from third-party websites (e.g., maps, videos). These are not under our control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We recommend reviewing those policies before interacting or sharing information. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
17. How to Contact Us or Raise a Concern
If you have questions, concerns, or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will acknowledge receipt promptly and aim to respond substantively within a reasonable timeframe. If you remain dissatisfied after our response, you may contact the relevant supervisory authority or regulator.
18. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in practices, technology, or legal requirements. When material changes are made (e.g., new categories of data shared or significant rights updates), we will:
- update the "Last Updated" date;
- post the revised policy here; and
- where necessary, provide notice via email or a prominent site notice.
Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage periodic review of the policy. All privacy-related correspondence should be sent to [email protected]
