Read More I almost handled my move on my own, but I'm glad I didn't. I filled out my details about relocating to another state and mentioned I needed full packing help since I work long hours. They reviewed everything and came back with a setup that covered the distance and the packing part without me chasing different companies. I also had a short gap before my new place opened up, so they arranged storage within the same plan.

Read More Contacted Menards 5 weeks before the move and a price was agreed upon. The salesman (Lenny) promised that the price would not go up and that delivery would be next day or latest 2 days. Menards acted as a broker and hired Handle With Care to do our move. When the HWC salesman(3 days before move) called he quadrupled the price!. We haggled the price down to double the initial price and then they charged more after everything was loaded on the truck. Supposed to be 3 movers to move our load and only 1 showed up. We contracted with Menard's for the load to be delivered by 3/10 or 3/11. Today is 3/16 and it still has not been delivered and they don't know when it will be delivered

Read More I had a terrible experience with Menards Moving (the broker) and the movers they contracted. During the move, their truck leaked oil all over my concrete driveway. When I contacted the company to resolve the issue, I spoke with Phil, who was incredibly dismissive. His response was that "trucks leak oil" and essentially told me that because I "invited them to my home," the damage was my problem to deal with. He initially promised to take care of it and gave me a number for the movers, but they never answered or returned my calls. When I followed up with Menards again, Phil flat-out refused to help, stating there was "nothing he could do" and that I should just clean it myself. A professional company should take responsibility for damage caused by their equipment. Instead, I was met with excuses and a total lack of accountability. If you value your property and expect decent customer service, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They are quick to take your money but will disappear the moment they cause damage to your home.

They will ask for all of your items for the move but will completely ignore your list to give you a smaller quote so you will move with them. After you are locked in, they will double or triple your rate as they only care about the cubic feet once its in their truck. I was not misquoted once but twice! I gave them detailed lists of everything I had going and they gave an initial estimate of 500 cubic feet so that the rate looked great so I would sign up with them. Come a week before the move, I gave the updated list again and my estimate is updated to 900 cubic feet, practically doubling my moving cost. Come the day of the move, the driver sees everything and tells me that it is well beyond 900 and that the list they have is off. Looking at the list, it is the old list from my initial quote (which is very outdated at this point) so updating the list a few days before meant nothing beyond demanding more money. After the truck is loaded, my final count is under 1200 cubic feet. So for a third time, my price is increased. After they have left with my stuff I get an email from an unknown company saying they are needing 70% of the remaining balance (despite being told multiple times by multiple people, that its 50% on pick up and 50% on delivery). I have to reach out to Menards to be told they arent handling my move but this other company that I have never heard of or been told about. When I called and asked about it all I was told over and over again was "sorry this wasn't communicated to you." That seems to be their motto, dont communicate and charge more. TL;DR They will offer misleading values so that you pick them over anyone else and raise your price once it's time move, when its too late to switch to anyone else!

You beg for a refund since you have to get back to your house, but they don't give it to you. It is your fault that the move can't be finished since you really must go back to your house right now and just can't be away for another four days until a new truck is delivered.
