I'm unsure if this company is poorly run or if the employees are criminals. They were supposed to relocate me from TX to NY but they responded to me at the last minute and abandoned me. I won't ever suggest these unprofessional to anyone.

Read More I have been waiting on my household items for almost 4 weeks and they told me it would be 7-10 days! This is absolutely unacceptable! I still don’t know if I will receive my items next week, it’s starting to get cold where I am and I don’t have any winter clothes and don’t have the money to go buy new clothes that I already have but have yet to receive them! I will never recommend this company for anyone to use.

Read More They sold my job so someone else. They lost several of my belongings and what wasn’t lost was broken. This is everything I own. I call their insurance company and it is not real. It doesn’t lead anywhere, it doesn’t have a real name and no one will pick up. They will just take your money and then force you to deal with someone who wants to be paid in cash. Absolutely do not hire them. I am going to have no choice but sue them. It would have been cheaper to throw away everything I own and buy it again new.

Read More Spend the extra dollar to get a quality mover, communication was horrible once they picked up my things from the origin, waited 4 weeks for my things to arrive, my nightstand was broken, boxes were smashed and opened, and they had no way of certifying they brought all of my items. This company is a masked 3PL. Cheap option, but I am not using them again.

The moving quote was increased 2 times and my deposit paid to Menards was not applied to the final costs that came from another company who actually did the move. This c ... Read More The moving quote was increased 2 times and my deposit paid to Menards was not applied to the final costs that came from another company who actually did the move. This company is a broker even though they lied to me and said they have their own trucks. They referred my move to another company and they did not forward the $1800 that I paid towards the move to that other company, and the other company charged me AGAIN for the same thing. The other company also loaded everything onto their truck and then held my belongings hostage until I agreed to pay their demands which were a full $3000 more than Menards had quoted me. I believe Menards and the other company committed fraud and extortion and I'm reporting them Federally for an investigation. Also, many of my belongings were damaged in the move and now the damaged items need to be replaced because I don't like having broken and damaged items.

Read More Menards is a broker using several other moving companies so you don't know who you are getting until the day of the move. I was provided a binding moving estimate of $14,719 for an interstate move from California to Arizona. On the day of the move, the actual movers, United Prime Van Lines, wanted to charge me an extra $10,000. Joseph, Menards' owner, supposedly negotiated them down to an extra $5,000, which I paid. However, I wonder if it was just a scam to get another $5,000. Of the 4 people who came to move us, only 2 spoke English. The main guy was very rude. They ended up taking all of my medications which were not in a cardboard box, just a wicker basket. This was critical because my stuff was in storage for a month. On moving day, they moved all the boxes to the street, blocking my neighbor's driveway for the entire day. They were supposed to bring 2 moving vans to the site. Instead they brought one, went to their storage facility, unloaded the truck and came back to reload. This cost us a lot of time. They didn't finish until almost 10 pm. Plus they did not take everything they were supposed to. We ended up renting U-hauls and drove the rest of the stuff there ourselves. When it came time for the delivery from United's storage, the delivery was on 2 different days about a week apart and not exactly to my convenience but I rearranged my schedule because I was tired of dealing with all the problems and I just wanted my furniture. The men that came for the subsequent deliveries were much nicer and spoke English. There were several large furniture items that ended up cracked, dented or badly scratched. I would not recommend using these companies unless you enjoy aggravation.

Read More DO NOT USE - 5 things Menards won't tell you 1. They have no trucks and no drivers 2. They will, without your knowledge or permission, subcontract the work to the cheapest mover they can find - that mover may have very different terms and conditions and delivery schedule requirements than what Menards sold you. 3. If there are problems with that subcontracted mover, Menards will not do anything to help - they are unwilling or unable to have any control or influence over that subcontractor. 4. If there is a financial dispute, Menards will not provide any assistance - they are completely hands-off. 5. If they happen to subcontract to a good mover, your move may go well - but they if subcontract to a company unable to perform the work, things will go very badly- it may take two months or more to get your delivery, if you get it at all, and it may or may not be badly damaged. And your only recourse will be to go after the subcontracted mover, who may or may not have adequate insurance. Stay away - use a real moving company.

Next to no communication despite our many efforts to get any information. I would never recommend! They take no responsibility and conveniently put it all on the people doing the actual moving. (who are also awful!)

Read More I don't know how they have 4 stars. I tried moving with this company and they brokers they use to move are awful. I have spent 3 months trying to get my $1,200 deposit canceled because the cancelled the move two days after the slot they promised to be in. When they got there, they tried to charge me an extra 2 grand saying that I didn't reserve enough space and it was going to take double the amount on my bill of leading (it was more than enough space; I ended up moving myself with a trailer that was smaller than the sq ft listed and still had room). When I tried to explain that I disagree and would like to see what it looks like in the van, the guy said no, said I was rude, canceled the move, and hung up on me. I never the canceled the move, they did, but when I tried to get a refund I was refused. While I understand that they hire separate brokers companies to come physically move items, when I called their customer service to complain about it, they weren't able to keep the broker in line and didn't help me at all, which should have been their job. I was actively being scammed and they did nothing to stop it nor help me out.
