Read More I have moved more times than I'd like to admit in my life and I was extremely impressed with this moving crew. My moving crew were a joy to work with for the 4 hours it took. They showed up exactly on time, were extremely professional (& great company), and carefully wrapped up all my furniture. For the first time ever, I can say I moved without a single item breaking or being damaged!

Read More I’m not sure how amerisafe receives a 92% satisfaction rating here. It has been one of the worst experiences of my life in regards to a move. Andrew Williams did nothing but lie to me throughout the entire process from start to finish. He promised that I was purchasing a package that included packing all of my elderly parents belongings throughout their home. Even went as far as to say that this would be the easiest move that they had ever made! What a crock of crap… When the movers FINALLY arrived, they were an hour late. Then they sat in the truck for 45 minutes doing “paperwork.” They walked into the house and wanted to know why we weren’t packed! They claimed to know nothing about us paying for packing service, nothing about taking our belongings to a warehouse to be stored, and said that if they did take our belongings, they would have to be ridden around in the back of the truck while they made other pickups and deliveries. I was told that the movers would be from our area and our things stored locally in northeast Louisiana. The movers stated they were from Missouri, and that’s where I things would be! Then when I called amerisafe customer service while the movers were still at the location to be packed up, the rep asked to speak to the driver. He didn’t know that I had him on speaker phone, and he made fun of me for thinking that they were supposed to pack, and laughed at me. The rep said that we were supposed to pack the boxes that they sold us prior to them arriving. They brought the boxes with them, so that was impossible!!!! Plus, we paid for 20 boxes, and they brought less than 10…. After all that, they had the nerve to hand me a new bill for over $10,000!!! I had paid a down payment of $1900.00 and was supposed to pay $1200.00 when they picked up the furniture and belongings in Louisiana and another $1200.00 when they unloaded in Mississippi. Needless to say, we sent them on their way without using their services. Crooked company so BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Read More Amerisafe Moving Services and their carrier, S&DJ Moving, owes me a partial delivery of my belongings. The carrier has promised and failed to deliver 15 times now. Over 10k in damages, 25 business days past the first delivery date and half of our items are still missing. Amerisafe keeps ignoring us and pushing any complaints off. Most of the boxes we paid to pack are between 1/2 to 3/4 full, and most of the breakables we have were wrapped in paper towels or tablecloths.

On 7/29/24 I have email communication from John Wyville at AmeriSafe movers that they could do the job on July 2nd or 3rd in a binding estimate. He assured me in writing ... Read More On 7/29/24 I have email communication from John Wyville at AmeriSafe movers that they could do the job on July 2nd or 3rd in a binding estimate. He assured me in writing 3 things – it would be a direct move from my home to NC (no warehouse), that their company would be doing the move (not subcontracted with a rental truck and day laborers), and that my inventory and cubic feet was accurate @ 705 cubic feet.  He assured me that there would be no issues with the cubic feet.  The movers show up from Cobra Van Lines on July 2nd and have my Dad sign a bill of lading for 1200 cubic feet before they ever come in the house.  They also tell him that they were dropping my belongings off in a warehouse in Chicago to await being put on a semi to North Carolina. I called John from the airport in tears and he says I will have to pay for the overage since my dad signed but that I would be able to get a refund from AmeriSafe.  I was told that he would “make this right, whatever it takes – even if it has to come from my own pocket” by John.  He says he’s going to forward it to customer service and someone would reach out.  The person from customer service reached out and literally laughed when I relayed the conversation with John Wyville, Senior Moving Coordinator.  She said that 1200 cubic feet were signed for and that is what I had to pay if I wanted my things back.  I call Cobra Van Lines and ask for photos of 1200 cubic feet actually being used in the truck and was told that they don’t do that. The evening of July 5th I get a text from the delivery driver saying he will be at my house on the 6th of July.  My belongings arrive on time and undamaged but while they were putting my furniture back together we couldn’t find a hardware box.  I asked if I could go look in the truck and was told that I could.  The box wasn’t in the truck either.  ALL my items had been offloaded at that time and I was surprised at how small the space was.  There were several deliveries on the truck – it was packed completely full – and I had been the first stop.  I decided to measure the space (and took video of me doing so).  The dimensions were 142 x 108 x 100 inches.  Had I used up every square inch of available space (which is impossible), the very maximum I could have used would be 887 cubic feet.  That is even counting the space right in front of the door which someone else’s king mattress was taking up.

Read More Take your business elsewhere... Fraud! Our experience with this moving company was marred by misleading information and dishonesty. We received a quote from Darren to move our 4 bedroom/3 bath, living room, family room, and patio furniture from CA to TN. He took an inventory of the furniture we were planning on moving to use in his database to calculate the cubic footage we would need to give us a quote. He included 49 pieces of furniture and 50 boxes. Darren then went over the move process, which we found was a LIE and was the opposite of the contract they have you sign. I should never have trusted his word. Two days before the scheduled pick-up, James called to verify the inventory and even upsold us on reserving the full truck just in case we needed more space; we did so and paid the $1,050 extra (I was told it would be applied to the balance if we did not use the full truck). He said the truck would arrive the day we arrived or the day after at the latest. On the day of the move, the contracted moving company arrived with a 26' 'transfer truck' to pick up our belongings. It was immediately apparent that they had only calculated 1100 cubic feet, a mere 1/3 of the 1800 cubic feet 26' truck they had brought. (going on the Uhaul Site, it states that a 26' truck would fit a small three-bedroom). They informed us that an additional truck would be required, doubling our cost from $11k to $22k. This lack of transparency and the significant and unexpected financial burden it placed on us is unacceptable. We were told that we either could load up whatever fit in the truck at the price quoted or get an additional truck at double the cost. We had to cancel as we could not afford the additional truck, as everything on our end stayed the same from the start of the original quote. We were misquoted in making their deal look appealing for us to sign. They will not refund our deposit of $4,063.00 as they said we had to cancel 72 hours before the scheduled pick-up. How could we have known they would send a small Uhaul truck to move a 4-bedroom house? Customer Service is HORRIBLE, and they refuse to let me speak to anyone in management.

First, my mistake not realizing they provide "moving services " so they are brokers meaning you are hiring them to hire someone you don't know to move your things, rip you off and treat you so poorly that we were appalled. The first 1 lady in customer service was the nastiest, most unprofessional person I've ever spoken to. She was condescending, rude and hung up on me when I questioned the binding fee to which her answer was " basically for hiring us". What? She refused to put a supervisor on the phone cause she was one! Again, what? The 4 people that followed were the same, lack of empathy and no accountability for crappy service! The last man I spoke to asked me to send an email to him about my complaint and when I said will the owner see this he said, "probably not" again, what's going there? The price is ridiculous and there is no break down that makes sense. They did not say anything about the actual moving co until the day before when it was too late. We paid our deposit w a c.c. but then the moving co not amerisafe said they needed cash or check. Who does that anymore? We didn't have either and it was Sunday! We did not get our stuff the same day because of this so we had to sleep on the floor. The only positive experience for us was the moving guys Johnny and his crew were nice. We basically spent over 6 k to be treated with no professionalism or respect, and a truck. I later found out Two Men and a Truck would do it for half the price. My bad for not being more thorough but moving is difficult enough without businesses like this taking advantage of people during difficult times. It's shameful. Their website lies about their values, they have none.

Read More This was by far the worst experience I have had with a moving company. They give you a quote and from what they said they are always off on their quote. That it will always be higher once the moving vehicle is there. So beware of what you are told when they give you a quote. Because once you pay them any money for the est. you will never get it back. They have reasons that if you cancel your move then you lose what you put down. So if you want the worst experience you can have, you have the right company.
