Read More No matter what they quote you expect to pay double. Quoted $8,300 originally and they show up and In my opinion extorted an additional $10,000. This is a round estimates and include a requested tip on top of the cost so they wouldnt charge extra for additional packing beyond what they as already charged. I feel they purposely under quote the job to get a signature and deposit. Then they show up and walk around the house and tell you this is going to cost more. What do you do when you have flights booked? Have to turn over the property after closing? They have you bent over. My mother is 80 years old and they took her for over $17,000. Took 22ft of a 26ft box truck and not even stacked to the ceiling. Make you pay cash on pickup and delivery. You don't actually get any of the packing you pay for. They charge you for certain amount of boxes, packing and blankets, but show up with nothing matching what they charged you for. They keep all the blankets you paid for after delivery. Whole thing was sketchy. Amerisafe also is just a broker. They have nothing to do with the actual pickup and delivery. Don't really have any complaints about the actual packing and delivery guys other than the guy that adds all the extra cost when he shows up. Just use a company that will come in person and give a binding quote. Don't get taken advantage of by these moving scammers out there. Do your research and read reviews everywhere. Don't let your elderly parent get taken advantage of. I failed, don't you.

Read More Unfortunately, our experience is like a reviewer recently posted. We talked with Brian and and yes, he was a super nice guy and friendly and made promises on the phone that were never delivered upon. We were removing less than 500 miles and he said it would just be a few days to have the goods delivered. We explained moving from a storage unit to an apartment explained the location flight of stairs /everything it took two weeks and lots of badgering to their customer service people to ever get any response as to when the move would occur. The night before the move was finally scheduled which by the way it was 17 days from pick up in two weeks from the first promised date they tried to charge an additional $500 for a shuttle fee because a semi truck could not park in Brooklyn. I pushed back and was able to have that charge removed because the moving company knew everything in the beginning. Like a previous reviewer said Kimberly the customer service agent tried to make it our fault is to wire a delivery wouldn’t occur as previously promised. At the very last minute they ask whether you need to see your eye or if there are any parking limitations. This was provided promptly but yet they still try to name that is the reason that that delivery would be even later than promised. By the way, they are purely a broker and are not the ones who pick up your goods and transport them and there’s no way to ever contact people who actually have your belongings. Would never ever recommend them.

Read More Unfortunately, my story matches most of the people on here. I spoke with Brian Giefing, he was friendly ...told me stories about how they help people. I was doing a military move, told me that all his truck drivers are able to get on military post. This was a lie, they are a broker and have no idea who is transporting your stuff. We had a rude driver that could not get on post even though I asked several times. The dispatcher named Kimberly tried to blame me for not mentioning that I was on post the 5 times I had to call to find out where my stuff was located. They came almost 3 weeks after the drop off date. They also doubled my quote the day before pick up. We had to rent a uhaul truck to get our things from the driver and mover our own items into the house. No compensation for their mix up. I have moved several times in my life they are by far the worse company I have worked with.

Bait and switch upon pick up they increased our move cost by over $2,000 there is no one to contact snd we were stuck with already paying a large deposit. Upon delivery damaged dining table brought to us in puzzle pieces and no hardware to assemble lost boxes and ladders. They were not honest upfront they stated they were just a broker which was not the truth. Everything is contracted out.

Read More They gave me an estimate to move from NJ to FL of around $2200, but it ended up being more than twice as much. First of all, they are brokers, which means they will charge you around $1000 broker’s fee (no actual value derived from this). Then, they give you a low ball estimate to ensure lading a job, and the actual moving company that shows up jacks up the price by more than 2X, when you have no more time to make changes and you pretty much depend on them because you have to go. When you bring up these issues, they will hang up on you. And in the rare case they do promise to look into the issues you pointed out, that does not derive into you getting any amount of money back. I imagine they just hope to land one job per customer in a lifetime, and don’t really care whether they come back or not. You’re better off finding an actual moving company and trying your luck there. Do NOT work with these people, save money and headaches. I gave one star cause I can’t give zero stars. You have been warned. .

It cost me almost $4000 more than expected not counting the many items that were broken, and the $60 offered to sign off on an insurance claim is a joke as is their process of reviewing claims. I was given false information about where my items were at 1 point and one staff person wanted to tie my delivery to a promise of a good review. There is no integrity that I see with this company, and no skill. In the unloading, they ruined the floors in my new place. Hiring them through AmeriSafe Movers (a brokerage company) was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

I was quoted $1,900 for the entire move, including his mechanical tools, personal items, and motorcycle. I attempted multiple times to list the motorcycle correctly, but the salesman refused and listed it as “motorcycle parts,” assuring me the quote was accurate. When the movers arrived, I was told the motorcycle was “not listed correctly” and I was forced to pay an additional $800. All items fit in a 26 ft box truck, so the fee was unjustified. At delivery, the company arrived in a semi-truck, which could not access my residential street. I was then told I needed to pay another $600 for a smaller truck. This was the first time I was ever told a semi would be used. When I questioned it, they said “it was in the contract,” despite never verbally disclosing this during the quote. This is a clear bait-and-switch tactic. Three items were also damaged, and the company only offered reimbursement based on weight, which is minimal and unfair. The move that was supposed to cost $1,900 ended up costing $3,200, through no fault of mine. Amerisafe misrepresented the inventory, failed to disclose material terms, added fees at unavoidable moments, and mishandled my brother’s belongings.
