When my lease ended sooner than expected, I had no plan. Phil worked with me to set up a move in just two days, and the team handled everything without rushing or cutting corners.
I had thought that I would have at least one broken piece after I moved, but thankfully everything made it to me in good condition. I had lots of friends recommend United Express Moving And Storage movers to me, and I can see why. They wrapped up my glass dining table and I was amazed that nothing happened to it during the journey. They were careful with my delicate objects and checked to make sure everything was in order before they set off.
I had items that were delicate and I didn't want to move them, but this team took extra care with them. They took special care with the padding, treated it in the most delicate way, and made sure it all made it home. Excellent service!
The move started off okay, but it quickly became obvious the crew lacked experience. They bumped walls, scratched my dining table, and worked so slowly that I had to help move boxes myself.
The movers arrived well after the scheduled time, and there was very little communication beforehand. This caused a major delay in my plans for the day. The loading itself was also quite slow. Overall, I found the experience disappointing.
Parents downsized from a 3-bedroom house into a condo. Movers carried fragile photos, dishes, and furniture without rushing. They even helped rearrange the sofa twice. That kind of patience goes a long way.
I was most worried about my upright piano. The crew wrapped it in thick padding, strapped it securely, and lifted it with care. It now sits perfectly in my new home, and it did not suffer a single scratch.
Carl showed up with his team to move my parents’ old dining set. They wrapped the table carefully, carried the heavy chairs steadily, and placed everything nicely in the new apartment.
United Express Moving & Storage gave very deceptive cost quotes throughout the process. Their final cost was 40% higher (final $2,500 vs original $1,500) than the original estimate while the number of items actually moved only had 2 additional items vs the original estimate. Both the sales rep (who provided the initial estimate) and the Quality Control person (who finalized items to be moved), made huge misrepresentations and extremely underestimated the cubic footage and cost. And they do NOT offer any compromise, such as reducing my final cost, even a token amount. And they hold your furniture hostage until you pay in full. DO NOT USE THIS BROKER FOR ANY MOVES!!!
