DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Prior to booking an interstate move from NY to TN, we conducted two to three separate virtual walkthroughs with sales rep Patrick Harris. We explicitly emphasized that we wanted everything accurately inventoried to avoid any surprises or unexpected costs on moving day. Based on these virtual evaluations, he issued a signed Binding Estimate for $21,800.00. Once signed, Operations Manager Michelle Bar became our main contact—and dealing with her was an absolute nightmare. Every conversation was like walking on eggshells. She maintained a belligerent "take it or leave it" attitude, overtalking us with "Listen, listen, listen," refusing to let us speak, and threatening to hang up if we pushed back. At one point, she actually said, "You're lucky we even showed up." They arrived on the final afternoon of our pickup window at 4:00 PM—with the closing on our NY home scheduled for 9:30 AM the next morning. The crew kept us awake packing all night long from 4:00 PM until 6:30 AM, leaving us just three hours before closing. Before a single item was loaded onto the truck, on-site lead Henner Rodriguez claimed the job was larger than expected and put Michelle Bar on the phone. With our NY home sale closing hours away and a purchase closing on our new home in TN just days later, our backs were completely against the wall. Knowing we were trapped, she verbally forced a price jump to $32,700.00—an unauthorized $10,900.00 overcharge—before work would begin. In a desperate attempt to lower the cost, we were forced to purge valuable personal belongings on the spot, forcing us to repurchase those items out-of-pocket after arriving in Tennessee. Left with no choice on moving day, we had to agree under total duress. Delivery was then delayed for over two weeks because Michelle Bar insisted we needed a shuttle service and attempted to demand additional accessorial fees, despite our executed paperwork reflecting $0 shuttle charges and specifying two smaller delivery trucks. Upon delivery, our furniture arrived with severe physical damage, including structural breaks to our bedroom set and entertainment center, and our box spring arrived filthy and water-stained. I have officially filed formal regulatory complaints with: • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration • New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (Office of Consumer Protection) • Tennessee Attorney General's Office (Division of Consumer Affairs) Save yourself the stress, money, and property destruction. Avoid AMEX Moving & Storage at all costs.

It was a solid overall professional move.
Vicente noticed that one of my boxes was not sealed properly and fixed it before loading it onto the truck. Small thing, but it saved me from finding broken stuff on the other end. It was a solid overall professional move.

Bad Service.
Not only were the movers tardy, but they also reeked of cigarette smoke. During their half hour smoke breaks, they lounged in my driveway, and i had to wait. Their lack of urgency and professionalism was shocking. Super frustrating experience!

Literally the best!
I cannot speak highly enough of the service that Amex Moving & Storage Movers provides. Our new home has quite steep stairs, yet they managed to get everything in there without a scratch. They completed the job in the allotted time and at a fair price.

Simple, Seamless and Satisfactory!!!
The movers provided excellent service; they showed up on time, had all the necessary packing materials, and were clearly prepared for the job. In a flash, they covered every dish and glass in my kitchen and left.

Immensely satisfied
I am writing this because I was super impressed with the specialized piano skid they used. Most movers just try to wing it, but Amex Moving & Storage came prepared with the right equipment and plenty of moving blankets. They didn't even leave a scuff on the hardwood floors while moving that beast of an instrument. It’s rare to see that kind of expertise these days.

Avoid this company at all costs.
When looking for movers I fell for the AMEX scam, thinking their glowing reviews were real when they are not. I had incorrectly assumed this was a company with its own intake, movers, and drivers, instead Michelle acts as logistics working with outside contractors. During our intake call with Patrick (who is a sales broker NOT an AMEX employee), I provided a detailed itemized list of everything in the move (including dimensions for furniture) with video and photos. We were quoted 960 cubic feet at around $8k for a full pack and move. We paid the deposit and were told we would receive our items in our move-in date, which was a LIE. Additionally, we were not told upfront that the last two payments had to be in money orders. On the day of the move, Austin showed up with 2 men in an AMEX truck. Though they all had AMEX shirts, it was clear that Austin was a contractor that had then found 2 people to work with him. After his walk through, Austin told us we were under quoted and said we needed at least 1500, which would take us to $12k. We were obviously upset and immediately called Michelle. She was absolutely no help in the situation, pretending not to understand why we would be mad at suddenly having to pay $4k more. Having no choice, we went on with the packing and move. It took the 3 men 11 hours. And, as we would find out later why, we ended up having to leave behind 8 pieces of furniture because we would have needed even more space in the truck. We had to scramble to sell things and lost so much money doing so. During this day of hell, we were also told that we would NOT be receiving our items on our move in day - that they have to wait for a truck to be going that direction to put our stuff on. Had we been told that before, we would have been more strategic in what we did NOT pack and to keep with us! We had to continually call and text Michelle for updates as to where our stuff was, because, we had put AirTags in some boxes we knew they hadn’t left yet. At our new home, we had to buy air mattresses and other essentials while we waited two weeks for our stuff to arrive. We also had to buy almost all new furniture. Not only was the move itself overly expensive, we ended up spending thousands more to replace to furniture we had to leave behind. The 2 men who arrived with our belongings, were also clearly contractors. While unloading, they continually mentioned how lightweight the boxes were, how many of the boxes were misshaped because they were not full, and how certain materials were placed in the wrong boxes. They asked if we had packed ourselves and were shocked to hear we had paid AMEX for packing. As we began to unpack, we found that at least 75% of the boxes were half full. Meaning, our items would have taken up less space if the boxes had actually been packed to capacity. This is a complete SCAM and utterly unacceptable. We also found broken glassware, broken mirrors, bent books, and other damaged objects, because, again, the boxes were not packed correctly. This horrible packing cost us thousands of dollars in cubic square feet. This “company” is, at its core, dishonest. They scam you into thinking they are legitimate, when in fact, no one, except Michelle, actually works at AMEX.
