Thanks To brandom and Kassandra for explaining the entire process to us, All of our doubts were cleared and the move was succesfull without any issues.
So we had a drop off date of June 10th or 12th I was told today that we will not get our belongings until the 15 or 16th. Sitting here in our new home with none of our belongings. I would not recommend this company to anyone. These guys are brokers and once they get paid you’re basically at the mercy of whoever they find to pick up and drop off your belongings. On top of that you agree on a price sign the contract and then they want more money out of you because they have no idea the sizes and shapes of your belongings so what you think your getting is not what you actually get unless you want to pay more.
Our move from Omaha, NE to Overland Park, KS was handled with professionalism at every stage. America First Moving’s crew was polite, attentive, and detail-oriented. Everything arrived safely and was placed with care.
With three young kids and a new job offer waiting, we moved from Orlando, Florida to Chicago, Illinois. America First Moving turned what could have been a nightmare into a smooth and stress-free experience. The team packed our kitchen and kids’ rooms with incredible care. They even labeled boxes with little notes so we knew exactly where everything went. It was such a thoughtful touch that made unpacking so much easier.
When my wife got a promotion in Kansas City, Missouri, we had to move from Sacramento, California within a few weeks. America First Moving came through when other companies couldn’t fit us in. They gave us a fair quote, stayed in constant contact, and delivered ahead of schedule. Even with such a long distance, nothing arrived damaged or missing. Their professionalism made a stressful move so much easier.
DO NOT USE. Scammers and crooks. Any positive reviews are scams. Check out their better business bureau rating. Here are the facts: 1. Your price will double 2 days before the pickup. (Bait and switch) 2. If you want it within the 2-3 days you asked for delivery they will add $1K (no disclosure at sale.) Without paying this, expect items to arrive 3-4 weeks later. 3. Your items get moved on/off trucks-warehouse multiple times. Boxes THROWN on the truck in a pile. Zero professional movers involved. 4. Items will be damaged and totally LOST. 5. You won't be compensated. Your credit company can't help. 6. The people who sell you the contract will vanish; the service reps will blame you for everything. MY ADVICE: A cross country move will only go well if you do it yourself (UHaul pod serice is fabulous, 1/3rd the cost) or hire a prominent national mover.
Let me start off by saying we absolutely couldn't ask for a better less stressful service me and my wife didn't know how we were going to make this happen America first moving were very professional and understanding I assure you we had a million questions lol thanks guys we highly recommend them
I moved from a 3-bedroom home in Port St. Lucie to a new place in Palm Bay, and America First Moving made it a breeze. They showed up on time, handled my big furniture and fragile decorations with care, and worked quickly without rushing. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and the team was friendly and professional from start to finish. Definitely a company I’ll be calling again for my next move!
We only had a 2-bedroom apartment in Fort Lauderdale, FL, but moving to Jacksonville with a toddler and a newborn felt overwhelming. America First Moving made it smooth and quick. They even brought extra boxes for last-minute baby items. I couldn’t be more grateful for their patience.
BEWARE !!!October 2024 I began looking for a moving company to conduct my move to Dallas. I didn’t know much about finding a company for long distance moves but I did my best to vet companies, try and ask the right questions and read reviews. Ultimately I chose Americas first moving. I felt reassured by manager Jim that they would help me, take care of my belongings, be transparent and give me fair prices. I communicated how important it was to me that there were no surprises and that I would be honest about what I was moving so that I could plan accordingly. Jim reassured me numerous times that as long as I communicated the items and they didn’t change the price would stay the same (I asked explicitly numerous times). When working with Jim he assured me that I had his direct number and for a few days after scheduling the move, I was able to directly get in contact with him. a few more months went by and it came to be right before the move and I reached out to “Jim” who assured me that he would be with me every step of the way, but upon reaching out, I was met with an automated system to talk to customer service representatives. This was a huge red flag. But I was too far from when I made my deposit to turn away. I got my questions answered by a customer service representative and a few days before the move. I was called back to confirm the items I was moving. I did decide to add a few additional items which I communicated to the representative and he informed me that these few items would cost me an additional $700. To me it did not seem like the items I was adding were equivalent to that charge, but I paid in hopes that that would be the only additional charge the day of my move. The movers came in which I came to find out that the company that I had been working with was a broker, and they would not be conducting the move. Actual movers surveyed my items and told me it would cost an additional $1000 on the lower end to complete the move. They informed me the additional $700 I paid did not go to them and it was a part of the fee of the brokerage. I communicated that the items I would be moving were the same as what I communicated to the representative and they said it doesn’t matter basically the size I was quoted for was inaccurate. I had no choice but to pay the fee as I was due to be out of my apartment and needed to make my way to Dallas. Fast forward to the delivery of my items the morning. My items were supposed to arrive another Moving Company called me and let me know that I would need to pay an additional $700 to them upon delivery because they needed to move my items from one truck to another. They informed me that the original truck would not fit at my location, which is not true because there is an empty lot that the truck would be able to turn around in and leave in. I declined and told them to keep the items as a now $1900 move has become over $4000. The company decided to deliver my items without the additional charge. However, I have never felt more scammed and bamboozled in my life. I trusted America’s first Moving to be honest and transparent about their prices and business practices and they were nothing but deceitful and predatory of someone who doesn’t know much about the Moving business. Had I known this I would’ve worked directly with Moving Company not a broker. Unfortunately now I am out of $4000 and left with multiple broken items, including glass that was packed and a specific box made for glass and labeled appropriately. If I can help anyone, please be aware of this company and please take your money anywhere else. my mom works for the police department where I’m from as an investigator and we feel very confidently that no judge would agree that these business practices are ethical. This is extremely predatory please beware.
