After years in Chicago, Illinois, I decided to take a job in San Diego, California. The thought of moving that far made me nervous, but America First Moving made it painless. They were punctual, friendly, and went above and beyond to protect my electronics and kitchenware. My belongings arrived in perfect shape, and I was settled in within days. It’s rare to find a moving company that truly delivers what they promise.
After years in Phoenix, AZ, my wife and I decided to move to Austin, TX to be closer to our grandkids. America First Moving treated our furniture and keepsakes like they were their own. Everything arrived perfectly, even my old record collection.
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.
We relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Orlando, FL and were very satisfied with the service. The movers stayed professional throughout the move and made sure all of our belongings arrived safely.
Our family relocated from Plano, Texas to Naperville, Illinois so we could spend Christmas closer to grandparents. America First Moving handled our kids’ furniture carefully and labeled everything clearly, which made unpacking during the holidays much easier.
