Read More Hope I can save someone else the struggle, wish I had read reviews before I paid a deposit or moving day came. Long story short what I owed the moving company doubled on moving day from what Value Added Moving quoted me. They definitely have great sales team, sold me on using them versus other companies. But their estimate on cubic feet was way off from what the actual moving company they sold my move to. Even after providing them a thorough list of what I was moving the estimated me only needing 1,225 cubic feet, moving company that showed up ended up telling me I had to pay for 2,900 cubic feet! I did have a 3,000 soft house with a decent amount of tools in the garage but my house wasn't packed full, three rooms we hardly used. Moving day was stressful and had to pay 70% of remaining increased balance. It also took the movers from 2pm till 1am due to them having to unload the truck and come back and finish loading it. Unlimited movers picked up our stuff on Saturday, was supposed to be Friday but was told 2 days in advance that they weren't showing up till Saturday. First delivery date is supposed to be the following Wednesday (or today as I am writing this) but based on my experience Satuday and the new contract I had to sign after my stuff was loaded in the truck says they have up to 30 business days to deliver, so delivery date unknown. Should have put a tracker(s) in the boxes/furniture. Will try to update how long it really takes to get my stuff and if stuff is damage or missing.

Emailed two days before truck arrives saying they need specific inventory numbers or my rates will be super high regardless of quote. First time I heard about inventory besides initial assessment. Just over all not a good experience. Not upfront or honest.

Read More I recently had a disappointing experience with Value Added Movers. One significant issue was their complete disregard for the scheduled arrival time. They showed up hours late, with no prior notice or apology. It was clear they had no respect for my planned schedule, which caused significant inconvenience. Additionally, their quoting process was misleading. The initial estimate they provided was significantly lower than the final price I was charged. On the day of the move, they suddenly imposed a new, much higher price. When I questioned the new amount and considered not proceeding, they informed me that my deposit would not be refunded, effectively leaving me with no choice but to accept the new terms. Overall, I found Value Added Movers to be unprofessional and unreliable. Their lack of punctuality and transparency, coupled with their refusal to refund my deposit under unfair circumstances, makes it difficult for me to recommend their services. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

This is how it went for me. I called and asked how much a move would be I told the man exactly how much stuff I had and what size it was. He said it would be… I think A little over $2000. Well I told him I can’t afford that so I’m good then he said let me see what I can do for you. He gets off the phone and he comes back and he said To get it down to $1700 for you we can do it for $1700. I say great I can afford that. He says OK my name is Aiden. Please save my number to your phone and call me if you have any questions throughout this process he did not answer or return any of my calls. The morning. The movers went to go pick up my stuff. They called me and told me by the way the total will be $2500. In the fine print, of course on the contract it said the price can be subject to change if there is more stuff than it accounted for while all of the stuff was accounted for and this man never not once said that the price could vary. He said this is how much it will be. End of the story when I called Explain, they said that they would call me right back. It’s been 48 hours and no call. This is a terrible company that basically scammed me. I realize that yes I should have read the fine print however everything was already set in stone over the phone and my credit card payment was received before I ever received a contract. Do not use this moving company and the worst part is they’re just a middleman. You can contact two movers directly. And not pay them the giant fee for doing basically nothing

They give you a price and when the 3rd party arrives they get you to pay up front, preferably in cash, zelle, or cash app. Once your items are in the truck they give you a new price that is THOUSANDS of dollars higher than what you were originally quoted. If you say say No, they then tell you they not giving you your money back and will hold your items hostage.

They showed up for my move and began loading, then abruptly claimed I had “hit the cubic feet limit” of my quote after loading the living room and part of the bedroom and tried to raise the price from about $6,200 to $15,000. At this point…. Most of the home wasn’t loaded yet including the fridge, treadmill, washer dryer, master closet, massage chair, executive desk ..just to name a few things. The original estimate was done by a rep “walking through” my home using Zillow —I even sold some very large and heavy items because the rep told me my cost would come down significantly . I asked them to removed my belongings from the truck and return them to the house—then they delayed unloading and tried to negotiate by offering small ‘discounts’ off the $10,000 add-on (starting around $200–$300, later around $2,300), while I repeatedly requested they unload/bring my items inside. They wouldn’t unload unless I signed some arbitrary document of delivery that appeared to be a blank check for them. I requested to sign after unloading and they said no. I said I wanted to read over what I was signing so I took it in the house (out of the cold) and the boss sent me a text which I will attach..That he was going to charge me $500/min for reading the document. Police were called, and only then did they finally unload my items back into my home. I paid almost $6,000 and they didn’t complete the move. Additionally they made me Venmo 1500 before starting because I had “too much stuff”. If you look closely at his Venmo transactions there are about a dozen payments to him titled (moving overage). Very fishy. I’ve moved many times in the past and the quote has never been off after going through every item in the home like what was done here. If you’re considering this company: do not. This was one of the most stressful, unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve lawyered up and ready to go if they don’t make this right promptly by refunding me the $5800. **************** (written before movers showed up… i wanted the WORST part to be at the top. Apparently I didn’t think it could get worse. It did. ******** They haven’t even started my move yet, but the communication and reliability have already been the worst part of this entire moving process. I received a confirmation the day before that my pickup was scheduled for a specific window (9–11). No one showed up, and no one proactively contacted me when that window was missed. I had to call multiple numbers/voicemails just to reach someone, and only then did I start getting updates. After that, I was given repeated vague ETAs like “one hour,” which came and went without anyone arriving or providing a real update. In the text below, it was the 2nd time 1 hr came and went… AFTER missing the initial morning window. When I escalated, I was told they “have until tomorrow” to pick up my things, as if it’s reasonable to expect a customer to sit at home on standby for 24 hours after you confirmed a specific appointment window. To make it worse, the tone from customer service/management was dismissive and talked over me instead of taking accountability or simply providing clear information. If you value basic professionalism, proactive communication, and showing up when you say you will, I would look elsewhere. Still sitting here waiting… At 2 PM. My confirmed window for pick up was 9 to 11. Zero accountability.

Read More Nick who booked my move told me 300 cubic ft was all I needed for my 1 bedroom and my movers would arrive in a week and could hold items 30 days. The movers show up and say that 300 cubic ft would never fit a one bedroom they made a mistake, and it’s not going to be $2335, but $5,000 instead. They packed me up 3 weeks ago and I still don’t have a clear date of where or when my items will arrive. I was told by their managers to blame the software they used to quote my move not Nick. Wow.

Read More Same story quoted $2500 movers loaded the truck and the price went up to $7800. The company that picked the stuff up literally said value added moving was one of the worst brokers. The first person didn't inventory correctly and when Daniel called and got the inventory correct he only added 20 more cubic feet. Just horrible company. I dont quite understand how I got tangled up with them but dishonest.
