These people suck!!

United Van Lines charged us .77 cents a pound to move our items from Massachusetts to Florida. Not very communicative, said they would call the day before they were to pick up our furniture and the day before arrival of our furniture. They arrived a day early to pick up the furniture and a day late to deliver the furniture. The person who quoted the price said that if we were under the weight given, they would refund us the difference. Never did he say it would be a huge price discrepancy. Signed the contract and did not bring as much stuff as we planned. I though no big deal, we will get reimbursed. We had to have a bank check to pay for the move, a little over $14,333. We were under by 2,000 plus pounds. They only paid us .16 cents a pound refund. No one ever mentioned this, he said it was in the contract. I do no believe it was. If it was, you should state this major discrepancy. Not too happy about losing 1,000 of dollars.

Worst customer service

This is the absolute worst moving company you could hire. Three boxes of my most expensive items did not show up and multiple items were damaged. They refused to compensate me for the lost items. $5000 worth of damage / lost items and they offers me $575 in compensation. Do not use this company.

Out Standing Review For William B Myer/ United Van Lines

Working with William B Myer was just an honor, the driver Jose Varas worked on our system moving our house from Connecticut to South Carolina The local technicians from William B Myer and also from United down here at South Carolina worked 110%. We highly recommend them to anybody that is moving out of state to use their service, it was just a nice piece of mind to know that we did not have to worry about any of the move. By the way the price was right on and a good price

very smoothly and tension-free

My automatic washing machine arrived unscathed to me in TX. The moving crew did an awesome job securing it thoroughly and even helped me set it up in my laundry room after delivery. I was grateful for the extra assistance!

United van is simply the best moving…

United van is simply the best moving company ever. Two gentlemen showed up on time and finished the work in a timely manner. Strongly recommend. Plus, their wrapping the package department is savage and i had my best time with them as they were so humorous and funny. We had lunch together and it such a swift move.

Couldn't have gone better.

My experience with United Global Van Lines felt straightforward and well-managed. The movers arrived on time, labeled boxes clearly, and stayed patient even with last-minute adjustments I had to make.

Horrible Horrible company they where Over 3 hours late my furniture is in bad condition. Furniture is very badly damaged scratched up everywhere.I was going to use white glove but Amilea kept calling me and telling me how they are a family owned business that really takes care of their customers. So sorry I didn’t use White Glove. Carlos and they men tried their best . Furniture still got damaged broken glass shelf’s. Carlos did replace the glass. Would not ever recommend them very bad experience.

DO NOT HIRE

Do not agree to their “tariff - UMT1”. Ask to read it and pay particular attention to the part that states if they create an “overflow shipment” situation, they can be any length of time beyond their delivery window and not have to pay you anything if you file a delay claim. The bad part about this “tariff” is that they are in total control of the logistics of a move and can show up at your move with an almost full van and then tell you that you have an “overflow” (due to their poor planning) and then take advantage of their ability to not be contractually obligated to their delivery date obligation. If I can warn anyone not to hire United this will at least be the consolation that I get for them being collusive.`

Delay and damage

I hired United Van Lines / Mesa Moving & Storage for an interstate move, expecting the professional, “white glove” service that was promised to me when I booked the move. What I received was anything but that. My delivery was significantly delayed. The truck experienced mechanical issues, and my initial delivery did not arrive as scheduled. When the shipment finally arrived, 35 boxes were missing, including my king-size Sleep Number bed and other essential household belongings. This was not a minor inconvenience. Because essential items were missing, I could not reasonably live in my new home. Those belongings were not located and delivered until approximately one month later. For that entire period, I was forced to make alternative living arrangements while my belongings were missing. I could not properly live in the home I had moved into. There was also damage to my belongings upon the first delivery. One particularly troubling example is a leather chair that was damaged during the move. I provided photographs showing the damage after delivery. I explained that tape had been placed on the leather during the moving process. United has denied responsibility, claiming the damage was caused by “atmospheric conditions.” I strongly dispute that explanation and have asked them to provide the documentation supporting that conclusion. I also purchased Full Replacement Value Protection for my shipment. Despite that, United's current settlement on several damaged items is minimal, including $0 for the leather chair. For the disruption and loss of use of my home, Mesa/United initially offered additional compensation after an initial partial payment. I asked them to reconsider because the compensation did not adequately reflect what I experienced. Their final response was essentially that the transportation was completed, my belongings were eventually delivered, and the offer they made was all they were willing to provide. They then closed the matter. I want to be clear: I am not complaining about a minor scratch or a short delay. My shipment was delayed. The truck broke down. 35 boxes were missing. My bed was missing. I could not properly live in my new home for approximately 30 days. Items arrived damaged. And I am still fighting through the claims process to receive what I believe is appropriate compensation. What has been most disappointing is not simply that things went wrong. Things can go wrong during a move. It is how the company handled the problems afterward that has been so frustrating. I expected United Van Lines and Mesa Moving & Storage to take responsibility for the consequences of these failures. Instead, I have had to repeatedly document what happened and argue for compensation for circumstances that they themselves have acknowledged occurred. If you are considering using United Van Lines or Mesa Moving & Storage for an interstate move, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not use either company again and cannot recommend them to anyone who wants confidence that their belongings—and their time—will be treated with the care they deserve.
