One of my paintings ended up crammed behind a mattress in the truck, and I discovered a nasty rip across the canvas when unloading. Nobody admitted to doing it, and I got zero compensation.
We had an odd job of moving my basement workshop out of a small basement with a narrow, winding stairwell. I have lots of heavy machinery, awkward parts, and bulky equipment. They clearly know all the tricks of the trade. At the new house, they had to cross newly refinished wood floors and navigate freshly painted walls on the way down to the basement, and nothing was damaged or scuffed. We even had a surprise item to move from the garage to the second floor, and they were happy to help.
I had a studio apartment with narrow hallways, and I was worried my large dresser wouldn’t make it out. The movers calmly measured the doorframe, removed the dresser drawers, and carried it out piece by piece. They reassured me the whole time, saying, “We’ve got this.” At my new place, they reassembled it perfectly.
What a great experience with this company. I moved so many time in my life but this was the best experience I ever had. The way they take care of your items it’s amazing. Professionally wrapping do you get no damages. Crew were great very efficient, they worked non stop and I really appreciate them. My sister will be using them also for her move to Florida. Will recommend Amex to everyone. Thanks again to Henry and his tea for great service 👌👌
Literally the WORST moving experience of my life! I moved from RI to FL. I was given an estimate then the day of the move I was told by the movers that the cost would be THOUSANDS more than quoted!!!! I didn't know what to do, they already had my stuff on the truck, our families flight to FL was about to leave, my lease was up on my apt so we had no where to go. I also needed to start my new job in 2 days. The movers for my car had already taken it. We didn;t know what to do. They said they were gonna dump our stuff on the street if we didnt pay. They knew they had control. We felt as if we had no choice. Then it took weeks and weeks to get our stuff and some things arrived broken! After many phone calls nothing was solved. This company is the WORST. DO NOT USE THEM!!
The elderly folks in my life were getting ready to sell the house they would lived in for over four decades. I had doubts about the movers' capacity to coordinate everything, but they did an incredible job. They handled fragile items with care, whispered to my parents, and moved slowly. They paused and reassured my worried mother that everything would be fine when she started to cry. Such understanding is priceless.
This is our second time using Cross Country Movers — Igor and Denis were so efficient (& strong!) for our move in the Edgewater area. Super impressed with the speed and diligence in which they worked. Very reliable company and will use for all future moves. Thank you!
They were the only company that quickly followed up with me via text and were very communicative about the whole process. They were very flexible because I kept having to add things to the manifest cause I haven't been in our apartment for awhile. The move itself was very smooth and easy.
They do not properly take care of your items. Most of your stuff will be broken, stolen, or just downright filthy. Please go use someone else if you actually want to get your stuff as is. Then when you try to get a claim for your items they give you the run around. They subcontract out so there’s no communication or any accountability.
The crew, Jared and Sherman, were incredible — so kind, professional, and easy to work with. They were extremely efficient and moved quickly while still taking great care of my belongings. One of the biggest highlights was receiving all of my things the same day they were picked up from my Detroit home.
