Read More Payed for move up front. Referred to contracted out movers which I was unaware of them doing. Other company DAMAGED property, lost boxes, packers spoke poor English, truckers who delivered spoke no English but “you pay now”. R at this company would not return calls. I feel our family was taken to the cleaners by this company as we lost money on items that were irreplaceable!

Read More This is the worst company ever! It was a nightmare. American Van Lines were impossible to get ahold of, didn’t answer the phone, didn’t return any calls. It was impossible to get an answer to “When is your driver coming?” At 6:30pm I was told NO they aren’t coming tomorrow- the designated date, but the day after that between 8am and 12 noon. OK, we were good with that. BUT The driver didn’t show up, or let us know, and he appeared at 6:30pm almost 7 hours late and they were loading the truck at our house until 2am. When I called on that day to see where they were (a Saturday) the phone was finally answered by the person on call…only she was at home but left the dispatcher’s phone number back at the office. The person who judged how much space we’d needed, vastly underestimated…all in all it was a horror show. ONE exception: the company who delivered our boxes (10 days later) was excellent. That was the only good thing that happened. I would NEVER recommend this company.

Read More HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. No communication. Changed pickup time without notifying us. I had to call for All info. Person producing original inventory list with us on the phone didn't listen, couldn't find item on his list, then when the movers came inventory was way short of what we told him which then of course dramatically increase contract price. Movers couldn't start packing truck until new inventory was done and the company approved the move, that took 3 hours. Our employer was paying for the move and wasn't going to sign the price increase contract. Which I don't blame them. But they wouldn't load the truck until he signed it. We were under time constraints. House was sold. Needed to sign on new house next day out of state. The moving crew themselves were great once they were allowed to load the trucks. Took longer than usual. This was not our first move using moving companies this was DEFINITELY THE WORSE!!!!

Read More I scheduled a move in Dec 2024. They quoted me a price, I paid the deposit and signed all the documentation with no issues. The moving company arrives and states that the quote was inaccurate based on the amount of household goods I have. It would be close to $3k additional charge. NO THANK YOU. I called and cancelled the service and requested a refund. For several weeks, I didn't hear anything from the company. I began calling the 3rd week in Jan 2025. Every week, its some different excuse. "Their accounting department only works on Fridays", "We wont have a status until 12pm", "There is no updated status", etc etc. I am utterly sick of the excuses and think I've been pretty patient for over 7 weeks. If you DO NOT provide a service, you shouldn't be expected to receive payment. This is called SCAMMING PEOPLE. And this business according to the BBB complaints is doing this often! Its criminal and something needs to be done about this!

Read More My husband got a new job in DC and we had to relocate rather abruptly. This entire process is incredibly hectic. I spoke to so many companies that were rude and pushy. American Way took their time with me and made this a much easier experience. They were patient and fair with me and put my mind at ease, I had to add some items with quality assurance and it made everything accurate on move day. Eeveryone was careful and respectful, I couldn't recommend them more

Read More They were great from the beginning. I got bombarded with phone calls and messages from other companies who were really rude to me. It was incredibly stressful to begin with, moving sucks. Very grateful I ended up speaking to american way, they really tailored the experience to my unique situation. Explained how the whole process worked and took care of my stuff like it was theirs when move day came. Thanks fellas

Read More This is the fourth move that I've done in my life, I've moved three times in the past and I've had a tough experience all three times. Chris and Danny we're incredibly patient with me, answered all my questions, and didn't pressure me to do anything I was uncomfortable with. I was nervous, and they put me at ease. The process was much more thorough than it had been in the past and they took the time to work with me and personalize my move. This was incredibly stressful to begin with and American way made it a smooth transition into a new life in California. My belongings arrived in just over 10 days and I was moving across the country. I hope I never have to move again but if I do I'd use call them every time.

I submitted a request for a quote and got flooded with phone calls and american way was the second company I spoke to after the first one was incredibly rude. The guy Danny I dealt with explained the process as I was unfamiliar with the moving business and I was told it's all about the space I am quoted for. He explained extra charges and the possibility that I could pay more if more space was used on the truck. I decided to add generic space to the estimate to compensate fr items I may have forgot or for items that fit unevenly. I'm glad I did that because I needed it. They answered the phone when I called and helped me to understand how all of this works. I'll never move again but if I did I'd call em

They just don't care and would not take responsibility. DISGUSTING.
