Needed to move cross country. Found Value Added Moving company on the internet. Gave them the exact list of items to ship (couches, fridge, washer, dryer, dresser, etc) ... Read More Needed to move cross country. Found Value Added Moving company on the internet. Gave them the exact list of items to ship (couches, fridge, washer, dryer, dresser, etc). Got a quote for the exact listed items with total shipping price of $3K which was reasonable. Did 50% deposit. On the pickup date, the moving company arrived and after reviewing, I was told that I need to pay additional $5K due to items being "too big, non-standard size". So, either I pay $5K extra or lose my deposit for refusing the service. I decided that I will not be duped and decided to fight it out by contacting credit card for the "bait and switch" tactic by luring with the low price and getting the deposit and over charging when the date came. Lose the deposit or pay up more. If I cannot get refund through credit card, plan to take them to the small claims court. Also, I plan to contact the small business or any agency that monitors business practices. I plan to also report this to the Florida state attorney and file a complaint for letting this fraudster be in business in their state. We, as a consumer must fight these fraudsters, bottom feeders, scum of the earth who pray on the weak.
