Swift Shift Van Lines competence was on full display as they skillfully squeezed my king-sized bed through the front door.
I have a large collection of musical instruments, and I needed to move them to my new place. The movers were careful with each instrument, from my guitars to my piano. They took their time wrapping everything and made sure all the instruments were secure during the move. I was relieved to see that everything arrived without a single scratch.
Don’t be fooled by this company. They are not a true moving company. They outsource all of their movers. They sweet talked me, made everything sound great, claimed I was getting a bunch of discounts, but then they ended up charging me more than quoted. They sent three guys from a local moving company called Jackson Movers. They were awful. Two of the guys didn’t speak English and the foreman, who did speak English, disappeared for most of the packing, so I couldn’t even communicate with the guys packing my stuff. The first thing they did was drop one of my expensive crystals and then claimed that is was already broken. I ended up having to pack the crystals myself because they were doing such a piss poor job. They dumped most of my things into boxes, they didn’t label any of the boxes, and they didn’t end up taking half of my stuff. I had to rent a U-Haul and tow dolly for my car and pack and load the rest of my things, which cost me an extra $1,600. Then, they didn’t show up at my house where I moved to for a week. The moving company had changed once again, and this time the movers were Champion Movers. The foreman was a lazy fat cow who only brought in a few things and then sat in his truck for the rest of the time and let two other guys unload everything. The only good thing about the unloading was a local guy they hired named Joe. He was awesome. The foreman refused to take apart my desk and move it into my office so Joe stayed behind and dismantled my desk and moved it to my office and put it back together. He then also helped me move over a dozen plastic totes to my storage shed in my backyard. The foreman refused to unload them there because he said it was more than 75 ft and would be an extra charge. I had labeled all of my crystal boxes with fragile labels, which were completely ignored, many of the boxes were upside down, crushed, or smashed. Once I started unpacking things I found a lot of broken items. This moving experience was the worst I’ve ever had. DO NOT HIRE SWIFT SHIFT MOVERS.
I had to move storage boxes and old furniture from my garage to a storage unit. The movers worked steadily and stacked the unit so I can reach what I need later.
Kevin and his crew showed up on time and completed the task effectively. I would recommend them without hesitation. This is my first time relocating without anybody else, and they made me feel more confident and at ease.
I appreciated how Steven & his group took the time to label each box and item clearly, which made it much easier for me to unpack and organize everything once it arrived at my new home. They used markers to indicate which room each box belonged to, and what items were inside. They also provided me with a detailed inventory list, which helped me keep track of everything and make sure that nothing was lost or misplaced.
The team was very focused on getting the truck loaded up. I was worried about things getting bumped around during the drive, but James and the team made sure the cargo was secure. They stayed on task and didn't take a lot of breaks while they were at my place. It was a relief to see how they handled the transition to the new house.
I had a very serious and frustrating experience with Swift Shift Van Lines and the moving company they brokered. After major issues during delivery—including erratic and unsafe behavior by movers they literally hired from Craigslist, unreliable delivery timelines which caused us to have to sleep on the floor of an empty house for a week, damage to property and belongings, and pressure to sign paperwork without proper verification and they left without me signing the paperwork which leads me to believe they may have forged my signature (swift shift has still not confirmed they have retrieve this paperwork which is either not signed or bares a false signature)—I attempted multiple times to resolve these matters directly with Swift Shift. They have since stopped responding entirely. I have spoken with attorneys who advised that while the situation appears clearly criminal, the cost of pursuing legal action would likely exceed any recovery. Because of that, the most realistic option left to me is to warn others publicly. This review is written so future customers can make an informed decision and understand the risks involved when using this broker.
I'm feeling uneasy about moving into a new house after living in the same house for years, but the crew made it seem easy. They had to pack our furniture carefully, handle any fragile boxes and remain organized throughout the day. It was a much easier process than I could have ever imagined. I would definitely use their services again.
James made my most recent transfer simple and affordable. Despite the several changes to the plan, they demonstrated remarkable tolerance and support while efficiently coordinating the transition. I have no plans to use them again very soon, but they will be at the ready in case I need to.
