Swift Shift Van Lines Movers has the best movers crew for the service; they have all been awesome when I hired them. Their staff was punctual, skilled and dedicated to the work. I have nothing to complain about from the service. But there's always room for improvement, so I'd only tell them to keep up the good work.
Don’t be fooled by this company. They are not a true moving company. They outsource all of their movers. They sweet talked me, made everything sound great, claimed I was getting a bunch of discounts, but then they ended up charging me more than quoted. They sent three guys from a local moving company called Jackson Movers. They were awful. Two of the guys didn’t speak English and the foreman, who did speak English, disappeared for most of the packing, so I couldn’t even communicate with the guys packing my stuff. The first thing they did was drop one of my expensive crystals and then claimed that is was already broken. I ended up having to pack the crystals myself because they were doing such a piss poor job. They dumped most of my things into boxes, they didn’t label any of the boxes, and they didn’t end up taking half of my stuff. I had to rent a U-Haul and tow dolly for my car and pack and load the rest of my things, which cost me an extra $1,600. Then, they didn’t show up at my house where I moved to for a week. The moving company had changed once again, and this time the movers were Champion Movers. The foreman was a lazy fat cow who only brought in a few things and then sat in his truck for the rest of the time and let two other guys unload everything. The only good thing about the unloading was a local guy they hired named Joe. He was awesome. The foreman refused to take apart my desk and move it into my office so Joe stayed behind and dismantled my desk and moved it to my office and put it back together. He then also helped me move over a dozen plastic totes to my storage shed in my backyard. The foreman refused to unload them there because he said it was more than 75 ft and would be an extra charge. I had labeled all of my crystal boxes with fragile labels, which were completely ignored, many of the boxes were upside down, crushed, or smashed. Once I started unpacking things I found a lot of broken items. This moving experience was the worst I’ve ever had. DO NOT HIRE SWIFT SHIFT MOVERS.
The three men who helped us relocate were terrific. They were helpful and kind throughout, even suggesting ways to better protect some of our packages.
The entire experience was just smooth. From the first phone call to the final box being unloaded, everyone was polite and professional. The crew showed up in a clean, well-maintained truck. They worked hard but were also very pleasant to chat with. It didn't feel like a stressful transaction; it felt like I'd hired a friendly team to help me out.
Honestly, I didn’t expect it to go this smoothly. I had heard stories about delays and missing items from other companies, so I was already nervous. But these guys made it easy. They checked in the day before, came on time, and got started right away. I had packed things up the night before, and they didn’t mess with my system. They followed what I asked without turning it into a back-and-forth. It all felt simple and direct, which I appreciated.
Mixed feelings. The SSV are brokers. We were quoted a price. the moving company they hired were rated 1 star and demanded more money than quoted and refused to deliver some pieces of furniture. The delivery dates quoted by SSV were 5-10 days. The movers they hired stated 7-10 business days the actually delivery time was 16 business days. The boxes were not securely stored as when they were delivered some boxes were torn, massive holes where items were spilling out, a gross liquid spilled over 5. The men packing up and delivering were different. The delivery people were nice, quick and didn't try to scam more money out of us like the pick up crew did. I feel betrayed about all moving companies from this experience. Good luck to everyone who uses this company and I suggest finding out who they hire as movers before signing so you do not get a low rate mover through this broker.
The excellent job the movers performed packing my belongings astounded me, but what really won me over was the fact that they double-checked everything, I've never been so amazed before.
I contacted Swift Shift Van Lines for a same-day move of my studio apartment. The guys showed up fast, packed my bed, TV, and kitchen stuff, and were done before evening. Nothing broke, and the timing was perfect.
Kenneth was the group leader and brought all the tools he needed to lift big items, including my king-sized bed, elliptical machine, and pool table. Even with minor items like lamps and nightstands, they ensured everything would fit snugly into the moving truck.
The finest service I’ve received from a moving company! Our cross-country move involved stops at my parents’ home and a storage unit before reaching our final destination. The movers expertly coordinated the logistics, ensuring that the right items were delivered to the right places.
