Then they make you pay 30% non-refundable deposit, which is basically their cut for booking the order. What I mostly hold them responsible for is lying to get your business and then contracting the moving companies who leave customers with long lasting frustration, disappointment, loss of trust in the good and reliable service, and damaged and lost items. In our case it was alphamovingservices.com. Once we signed the contract we were directed to the contracted moving company that told us they have their own rules. The lesson learned if we ever need to move again. But for the starters, my first piece of advice would be to hire small company or private movers who you will directly work with from start to finish and who do not make you pay deposits that are not refundable after 48 hrs of booking. Pay attention to not so bright reviews as I'm very puzzled with how Swift Shift got so many when they are not after all just a broker and not the moving company.
What worked well was how the team handled changes as they came up. I moved to simplify daily routines, not because I had to. Richard and the other members noticed early that some items needed different handling and shifted the order on their own.
I had a great time moving with Richardson and his team. They were wonderful, friendly, and cautious when moving my fragile things safely.
The movers arrived around 11 am and immediately started working. They had to carry our heavy drawers down the stairs using lifting straps and rolling dollies. The entire transit was on schedule. Great experience.
Everything in my third-floor flat had to be transferred across town. Due to my heavy wooden dining table and bed frame, the process made me anxious. The crew worked quickly yet carefully and arrived on time. My bed was carefully disassembled and reassembled at the new location. They protected my fragile vases and dishes with blankets.
