Overall, the experience was below average. Better planning, stronger communication, and improved customer service would have made a significant difference.
The company moved our items with great efficiency and punctuality. They easily disassembled our previous house's dining table, sofa, and bed and put everything back together when we moved. They also safely packed our microwave, PC and TV and treated them with care. Together, they finished the relocation in few hours.
Everything was done in about 4 hours, which matched what they told me earlier. That made it easier for me to plan the rest of my day.
I recommend this company to anyone in need of secure relocation assistance. The staff helped me take my belongings downstairs and took good care of my TV and furnishings (unlike other firms who chuck stuff in the vehicle). They arrived 10 minutes early. He assisted me in moving all of the furniture into the rooms of the new home when we moved into our new house, and he removed his shoes upstairs to protect my newly installed carpeting.
My experience turned out better than expected. The movers stayed on task and didn’t bounce around between things. They worked through the move in a way that made sense and didn’t need to redo anything. Items fit the way they planned it, and there was no stopping and restarting. The work kept moving without feeling chaotic. Once it was done, I felt good about how it all went and didn’t have any second thoughts about using the service.
The crew was incredibly kind when I had to reschedule my relocation date at the last minute, and I didn’t complain. To wrap everything up, they even arrived earlier than expected.
Cannot review Swift Shift for moving services as they are just brokers with good sales people who tell you they are giving you a very good price because otherwise one of their trucks will be heading back to Florida empty, thus you are getting a very good deal, but you need to decide quickly. Then they make you pay 30% non-refundable deposit, which is basically their cut for booking the order. What I mostly hold them responsible for is lying to get your business and then contracting the moving companies who leave customers with long lasting frustration, disappointment, loss of trust in the good and reliable service, and damaged and lost items. In our case it was alphamovingservices.com. Once we signed the contract we were directed to the contracted moving company that told us they have their own rules. The lesson learned if we ever need to move again. But for the starters, my first piece of advice would be to hire small company or private movers who you will directly work with from start to finish and who do not make you pay deposits that are not refundable after 48 hrs of booking. Pay attention to not so bright reviews as I'm very puzzled with how Swift Shift got so many when they are not after all just a broker and not the moving company.
They moved fragile paintings and expensive electronics for me, and everything arrived safely. I could see how much care they put into wrapping and carrying items. Their precision really impressed me throughout the entire moving experience.
The movers arrived around 11 am and immediately started working. They had to carry our heavy drawers down the stairs using lifting straps and rolling dollies. The entire transit was on schedule. Great experience.
The moving team was not only efficient but also really friendly. They made the whole experience pleasant. They took extra care with my mirrors and paintings, and nothing got damaged. They also helped me unpack a few boxes to get started.
