We had several glass tables and mirrors in our move. The crew wrapped them carefully, taped the corners, and carried them without rushing. Every fragile item made it into the new place safely. Stellar job
The customer service was good. I had a lot of questions because I had never hired movers before, and the person on the phone was patient with me. On moving day the crew showed up and handled my one bedroom apartment in about 3 hours. When they left, I sat on my floor surrounded by boxes, and I felt like I had made a smart decision for myself.
David and Eric maintained cleanliness around my house when I hired them to move my couch. They disposed of the wasted packing material and also double checked on their way out to see if they’d gotten rid of everything. Bravo!
Before moving, I needed to get rid of a lot of old basement junk and broken furniture. I added their haul-away service to the moving package. The crew quickly removed all the unwanted items right from the basement. This saved me a lot of time and heavy lifting before the actual moving day.
Don’t be fooled by this company. They are not a true moving company. They outsource all of their movers. They sweet talked me, made everything sound great, claimed I was getting a bunch of discounts, but then they ended up charging me more than quoted. They sent three guys from a local moving company called Jackson Movers. They were awful. Two of the guys didn’t speak English and the foreman, who did speak English, disappeared for most of the packing, so I couldn’t even communicate with the guys packing my stuff. The first thing they did was drop one of my expensive crystals and then claimed that is was already broken. I ended up having to pack the crystals myself because they were doing such a piss poor job. They dumped most of my things into boxes, they didn’t label any of the boxes, and they didn’t end up taking half of my stuff. I had to rent a U-Haul and tow dolly for my car and pack and load the rest of my things, which cost me an extra $1,600. Then, they didn’t show up at my house where I moved to for a week. The moving company had changed once again, and this time the movers were Champion Movers. The foreman was a lazy fat cow who only brought in a few things and then sat in his truck for the rest of the time and let two other guys unload everything. The only good thing about the unloading was a local guy they hired named Joe. He was awesome. The foreman refused to take apart my desk and move it into my office so Joe stayed behind and dismantled my desk and moved it to my office and put it back together. He then also helped me move over a dozen plastic totes to my storage shed in my backyard. The foreman refused to unload them there because he said it was more than 75 ft and would be an extra charge. I had labeled all of my crystal boxes with fragile labels, which were completely ignored, many of the boxes were upside down, crushed, or smashed. Once I started unpacking things I found a lot of broken items. This moving experience was the worst I’ve ever had. DO NOT HIRE SWIFT SHIFT MOVERS.
I highly recommend Swift Shift Van Lines. We were moving my son into a 3rd-floor dorm at State University. Parking was a nightmare, but they handled it. William and his partner carried that mini-fridge and the trunk full of textbooks up all those stairs. They were fast and friendly with all the students moving in around us. Made a chaotic day much smoother for us parents.
Jack was a beacon of light in helping us out with the logistics of the move. He put in great efforts to make sure we had the best possible experience in an affordable price. And his hard work bore fruit when I received the final bill. I value all his assistance greatly!
Contracted for a small move for my elderly parents and finalized the list a week prior, but when the movers came they had a different list and wanted more money, then was told the delivery would be on a certain date and two weeks later still no household goods and they are without a mattress and walkers and there is not estimated date of arrival. Terrible experience so far.
They were amazingly patient. I made a lot of changes at the last moment and they managed them wonderfully. They spotted that I was behind with packing and pitched in to help finish a few boxes for me. A team that works hard and is so kind!
We did have a sectional that was able to be divided into several sections but it was difficult to get through the door. The movers were very careful to disassemble and reassemble it at the new location. All cushions and pieces were kept together.
