Cannot express my gratitude to their movers for delivering my furniture safely to me. Each piece was covered with padding and wrapped in furniture blankets. There wasn’t a single scratch I detected when I received it all. Bravo to them!
I moved my one-bedroom apartment last weekend. The movers carried my sofa and bed through a narrow staircase without hitting the walls. Everything was placed exactly where I wanted, and nothing was damaged in the process.
When Michael was in charge, the Swift Shift Van Lines moving crew always worked hard and showed commitment. These people did everything they could to keep our things safe while packing and unloading. Everything went smoothly with the move because they were so nice.
Cannot review Swift Shift for moving services as they are just brokers with good sales people who tell you they are giving you a very good price because otherwise one of their trucks will be heading back to Florida empty, thus you are getting a very good deal, but you need to decide quickly. Then they make you pay 30% non-refundable deposit, which is basically their cut for booking the order. What I mostly hold them responsible for is lying to get your business and then contracting the moving companies who leave customers with long lasting frustration, disappointment, loss of trust in the good and reliable service, and damaged and lost items. In our case it was alphamovingservices.com. Once we signed the contract we were directed to the contracted moving company that told us they have their own rules. The lesson learned if we ever need to move again. But for the starters, my first piece of advice would be to hire small company or private movers who you will directly work with from start to finish and who do not make you pay deposits that are not refundable after 48 hrs of booking. Pay attention to not so bright reviews as I'm very puzzled with how Swift Shift got so many when they are not after all just a broker and not the moving company.

After experiencing Swift Shift's services firsthand, I feel compelled to warn others about this company's problematic business practices. What started as an affordable moving solution quickly became a nightmare of hidden fees, poor communication, and accountability issues. Swift Shift initially provided an extremely competitive estimate that was significantly lower than other companies I contacted. This should have been my first red flag. After paying the required non-refundable deposit to "secure" my moving date, the real problems began. On moving day, the actual movers (who, I later learned, were from a completely different third-party company) arrived and immediately informed me that the price would be nearly double the original estimate. They cited additional charges for stairs, distance from the truck, packing materials, and various other fees that were never mentioned in the initial quote. With my belongings already loaded and limited options available, I felt forced to pay the inflated price -- how can you back out on moving day? Tenants were moving in two days after my moving day. Swift Shift knows this is typically the case and exploit. Once the move was underway, getting any information about my shipment became nearly impossible. Phone calls went unreturned and when I did get through, I was hung up on. Promised delivery dates came and went without explanation, and when I did manage to reach someone, they seemed to have no knowledge of my specific situation. The lack of tracking information and constant delays added tremendous stress to an already difficult process. What Swift Shift fails to make clear upfront is that they operate primarily as a broker, not an actual moving company. This means they're essentially a middleman who contracts your move out to other companies. When problems arise - and they will - Swift Shift points fingers at the third-party movers, while those movers claim they're just following Swift Shift's instructions. This creates a frustrating cycle where no one takes responsibility for the issues. Swift Shift was unresponsive to my calls and emails about insurance information. Getting documentation and information about where my items were and when they’d arrive was like pulling teeth. Moving is stressful enough without dealing with misleading, predatory business practices and poor customer service. While Swift Shift's initial estimates might seem attractive, the hidden costs, lack of communication, and accountability issues make them a company I cannot recommend. There are honest, reliable moving companies out there - Swift Shift is not one of them.
They mishandled my refrigerator and washer during the move, leaving dents and scratches on both. When I pointed it out, they said it was my fault for not wrapping them, even though I paid extra for their professional wrapping service. I felt cheated and angry.
Beginning with the initial quote and going through the whole moving process, everything was great. The people who worked on the move were professional and patient the whole time. Their services are excellent, and I plan to use them again in the future.
Dealing with Swift Shift Van Lines was a breeze from start to finish. They were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, answering all our questions. Michael, in particular, was amazing. I highly recommend them.
