I had several delicate antiques that required special handling. Luckily, the crew from Swift Shift Van Lines wrapped each item in layers, secured them inside wardrobe boxes for extra stability, and made sure they were the last loaded and first unloaded. I was overjoyed when I received every single piece in perfect shape!
This company is not to be trusted. They give you specific pricing and I was also given 7-10 day window for arrival of my goods. All a lie. They broker out their business and don’t mention that. The price went up by 1500, although I did a quality assurance call and updated my items to be moved which they did not update and give to the movers they contract with. SO when the movers showed up they wanted 1500 more and told me 30 days for arrival. I had a find a new company entirely and swift shift cancelled me and kept my 1096.00 deposit. They are all crooks. Ted, who took my original order, is deceptive as best. Jonathon Ortiz ,Lily DeSilva and Jordan, the quality assurance guy, are all very rude, and unethical. Don’t know how they sleep at night. They should provide at least a partial refund just to restore faith
What worked well was how the team handled changes as they came up. I moved to simplify daily routines, not because I had to. Richard and the other members noticed early that some items needed different handling and shifted the order on their own.
My family needed a crew to load a large container for a long-distance move. The workers arrived early and started organizing the boxes by weight. They tied everything down with straps so the load would not shift on the road. I noticed they were careful with the corners of my antique cabinets. It took four hours to finish the entire driveway. The communication was clear from start to finish. Charles and the team were very helpful, and all the things were delivered safely.
Don’t be fooled by this company. They are not a true moving company. They outsource all of their movers. They sweet talked me, made everything sound great, claimed I was getting a bunch of discounts, but then they ended up charging me more than quoted. They sent three guys from a local moving company called Jackson Movers. They were awful. Two of the guys didn’t speak English and the foreman, who did speak English, disappeared for most of the packing, so I couldn’t even communicate with the guys packing my stuff. The first thing they did was drop one of my expensive crystals and then claimed that is was already broken. I ended up having to pack the crystals myself because they were doing such a piss poor job. They dumped most of my things into boxes, they didn’t label any of the boxes, and they didn’t end up taking half of my stuff. I had to rent a U-Haul and tow dolly for my car and pack and load the rest of my things, which cost me an extra $1,600. Then, they didn’t show up at my house where I moved to for a week. The moving company had changed once again, and this time the movers were Champion Movers. The foreman was a lazy fat cow who only brought in a few things and then sat in his truck for the rest of the time and let two other guys unload everything. The only good thing about the unloading was a local guy they hired named Joe. He was awesome. The foreman refused to take apart my desk and move it into my office so Joe stayed behind and dismantled my desk and moved it to my office and put it back together. He then also helped me move over a dozen plastic totes to my storage shed in my backyard. The foreman refused to unload them there because he said it was more than 75 ft and would be an extra charge. I had labeled all of my crystal boxes with fragile labels, which were completely ignored, many of the boxes were upside down, crushed, or smashed. Once I started unpacking things I found a lot of broken items. This moving experience was the worst I’ve ever had. DO NOT HIRE SWIFT SHIFT MOVERS.
I recently relocated my small business from one office space to another, and I was concerned about the electronics and desks potentially getting damaged. The movers came prepared with all the right materials, wrapped everything securely, and even labeled boxes as they went. The setup at the new place was smooth, and not a single item was out of place. Their professionalism really stood out.
Mixed feelings. The SSV are brokers. We were quoted a price. the moving company they hired were rated 1 star and demanded more money than quoted and refused to deliver some pieces of furniture. The delivery dates quoted by SSV were 5-10 days. The movers they hired stated 7-10 business days the actually delivery time was 16 business days. The boxes were not securely stored as when they were delivered some boxes were torn, massive holes where items were spilling out, a gross liquid spilled over 5. The men packing up and delivering were different. The delivery people were nice, quick and didn't try to scam more money out of us like the pick up crew did. I feel betrayed about all moving companies from this experience. Good luck to everyone who uses this company and I suggest finding out who they hire as movers before signing so you do not get a low rate mover through this broker.
Really happy with how this move turned out. A sewing studio with several older industrial machines needed to be relocated. The machines had small parts that could shift easily, so the movers wrapped the metal heads in thick plastic before moving them. Heavy tables were carried up the driveway and brought in through the side door without being dragged. After everything was set down, the needles and parts were still in place.
This company really has a customer service mentality. The movers were courteous, responsive and had a mind to ensuring my satisfaction. They were intent on quality, which was clear during the move.
