Andrew and his companion were kind, and they answered all of my queries. To avoid squashing my breakables, they positioned my hefty boxes at the bottom of the piles.
I asked Swift Shift Van Lines to move my baking equipment to a different kitchen. They loaded the mixers, trays, and boxes of ingredients without rushing. Everything ended up in the right place when they were done unloading.
I've never used movers to help with a move before, but I can assure you that it was easy and painless. The men did not take unnecessary breaks and were polite and respectful. When I eventually need to relocate, I will, without a doubt, hire an once more.
I highly recommend Swift Shift Van Lines. We were moving my son into a 3rd-floor dorm at State University. Parking was a nightmare, but they handled it. William and his partner carried that mini-fridge and the trunk full of textbooks up all those stairs. They were fast and friendly with all the students moving in around us. Made a chaotic day much smoother for us parents.
The moving crew handled the relocation in a very organized manner. They carefully prepared the furniture before loading and kept the household boxes arranged properly. The team worked efficiently throughout the day. Everything was unloaded carefully at the new home. Overall, the process felt smooth and professional.
Right after signing the contract we were funneled off to subcontractors. One in New York and another for delivery in North Carolina. The subcontractors who did the pick up swindled my son out of an additional $363.75 saying more than our 300 cubic feet was used because they couldn't stack boxes on top of furniture. However, when the moving truck arrived in North Carolina, all of the boxes were stacked on furniture in the back of the truck. Second, we paid for packing and unpacking but the guy who delivered was by himself and said he didn't have time to unpack anything. Therefore, we are owed 1/2 of the $300 packing fee.
Swift Shift Van Lines is a moving Broker. Something their agent did not tell us when we were on the phone. The agent also said our belongings would be stored in the state we were moving to; the mover that arrived said our belonging were going to be stored in another state. Also the agent under estimated the space we would need for our belongings, so the initial price was acceptable; when the mover arrived the space needed and price went up by alot. The link for the estimate expired by the time the mover arrived (something they do not inform you of). The mover showed up at 815pm on the second day, within the two day window. They contacted us several times moving the pick up time; but showing up that late is not good business management or respectful to the customer. When we were told the new moving cost estimate; we attempted to call Swift Shift Van Lines and were going to cancel and see about a refund, but no one answered. We would not under any circumstance recommend Swift Shift Van Lines.
They did a great job of packing everything. For each room, they utilized a different color of box, which made unloading simple. They take pleasure in their job, as seen by the fact that everything is immaculate.
James made my most recent transfer simple and affordable. Despite the several changes to the plan, they demonstrated remarkable tolerance and support while efficiently coordinating the transition. I have no plans to use them again very soon, but they will be at the ready in case I need to.
Moving day made me nervous, but Richard and the staff put me at ease. David carefully labeled and packed my many boxes into the car. He avoided scuffs when loading my sofa through my small front entry, which I appreciated.
