Overall, the experience was below average. Better planning, stronger communication, and improved customer service would have made a significant difference.
We scheduled the move after a long work week and didn’t want complications. They arrived and asked a few simple questions before starting. I stayed nearby while they worked. Items were handled with care and loaded in a way that made sense. Unloading followed my directions without confusion. The service felt reliable and worth it.
Swift Shift Van Lines did an amazing job with my move from an apartment to a townhouse. They gave me a clear quote upfront and stuck to it. There were no hidden fees, and they didn’t try to upsell me on unnecessary services. They were efficient, respectful, and made sure my belongings were handled with care. I had some heavy furniture, but they used the right equipment, like moving dollies and straps, to make sure everything was safely loaded into the truck. The move took less time than expected, and I was so impressed by their professionalism.
This is a broker. They don’t know what they’re doing when they price / size your items. When the actual movers came, they told me I needed another 150 square feet and it would cost 1500$ more. This company under quoted me for all my furniture and even told me I actually had room to add more furniture. It took a long time to get in contact with the company to discuss this issue. When I finally did, the agent wouldn’t talk to me and he immediately transferred my call to his supervisor. He hasn’t even returned my email. The supervisor was extremely rude and offered no solutions. She had no sympathy for the situation. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend this company.
Without this firm, our relocation may have been a tragedy. They delivered at the eleventh hour, and the move went off without a hitch. Lifesavers!
Mixed feelings. The SSV are brokers. We were quoted a price. the moving company they hired were rated 1 star and demanded more money than quoted and refused to deliver some pieces of furniture. The delivery dates quoted by SSV were 5-10 days. The movers they hired stated 7-10 business days the actually delivery time was 16 business days. The boxes were not securely stored as when they were delivered some boxes were torn, massive holes where items were spilling out, a gross liquid spilled over 5. The men packing up and delivering were different. The delivery people were nice, quick and didn't try to scam more money out of us like the pick up crew did. I feel betrayed about all moving companies from this experience. Good luck to everyone who uses this company and I suggest finding out who they hire as movers before signing so you do not get a low rate mover through this broker.
Really grateful to Swift Shift Van Lines staff for being so flexible. They adjusted to my jam-packed schedule and assured their movers would handle everything from packing to delivery. True to what they said, the crew managed it all themselves and I didn’t have to sweat about juggling too many things at once. I couldn’t be more thankful!
My experience went safely and satisfactorily with these movers. They do their job right, hiring them again soon for the next shifting help. I would absolutely use them again!
A 10/10 experience! I have a number of expensive furniture and I was afraid of getting damaged in the midst of my recent move. But, these movers did all things carefully and used custom padding. My furniture has reached me in perfect shape!
