Read More I initially put a good review. But I have been in my new state for 2 weeks and they have known my move-in date has been scheduled for May 1st for that long. However, apparently my stuff is in storage in my old state and they have no idea when it will be here. If the customer service representative calls me back like they are supposed to ill change my review. But it seems I'm leaving my corporate temporary living and moving into an empty house for an undisclosed amount of time. Makes me feel great!!😤

None were smudged or scratched upon arrival, showing they valued everything they handled.

Read More A Masterclass in Incompetence and Ghosting If you value your sanity, your belongings, or even the bare minimum of communication, run from Safeway Moving. Our cross-country move turned into an absolute nightmare, and the root of the disaster? Eric — our so-called “account manager.” During the sales process, Eric was Mr. Responsive. “I’m your man,” he said. “Call me anytime during your move.” That quickly turned into radio silence. No returned calls, no emails, no texts — not a single response since our stuff was picked up over two weeks ago. We’re sitting here with no idea where our belongings are, no timeline, no updates, and absolutely no help. It’s like they vanished with our life in the back of a truck. Safeway Moving isn’t just disorganized — they’re shady. There’s zero accountability, and once they have your money, you’re on your own. Do not trust this company. Do not fall for Eric’s slick talk. We were scammed by someone who pretended to be on our side, only to disappear the moment we needed him most. Total bait-and-switch operation. Avoid Safeway Moving at all costs.

Read More I had to delete the initial five star review that I left because I’ve been sitting in an empty apartment for two weeks (why did they pressure me to leave a five star review right out of the starting gate, anyway? It was creepy and rude. They wouldn’t leave with my stuff until I left a five star review). Now….they never showed up with my stuff. My boxes have been sitting in a warehouse in New Jersey for two weeks and I’ve gotten nothing but day after day of empty promises. One more week and I’ll have to file a complaint with the Federal Motor Carrier Association (FMCA). It’s your move, Safeway Moving. Will you be in breach of contract of my Bill of Lading?? Edited to add--my stuff showed up after 3 weeks. There was only one mover to move ALL of my belongings, and he had driven to Minnesota all the way from New Jersey. Nothing broken or missing, but my adjustable base bed no longer adjusts. They lost the cord for it. Don’t let all the five star reviews fool you. Notice how all of them (along with the pictures) are only at the point of pickup, when they pressure you to leave a five star review otherwise they won’t leave with your things.

Read More If anyone used this mover and received a wooden desk with sharpie drawings, please reach out! I'd been drawing on this desk for years and it was probably my favorite piece of furniture until they lost it. I still have the screws as well! This company just felt unorganized. Every item was tagged. Every item has a number, and yet still 2 items went missing and are unaccounted for after multiple calls. During delivery I had to point out several boxes that weren't mine so I can only imagine that they just cut corners and do not check that everything is going to the right place. I was also told this was a moving carrier. I even had a lengthy discussion with a rep about why carriers are the way to go. Then on the day of my move a truck from a different company shows up! During delivery an entirely different company shows up. Not the way to go.

The staff members displayed both gentleness and organizational skills and showed deep understanding of our needs. Their complete service package included the entire moving process which allowed them to pack and set up the new location while eliminating any stress or difficulties.

They damaged our 75-inch TV and several kitchen items, and after jumping through endless hoops to file a claim (which was designed to frustrate you into giving up), we were offered a laughable refund of around $140. Are you kidding me? That doesn’t even begin to cover the cost of the TV, let alone the other damaged items. It’s now been over two months, and we still haven’t received a refund check. Every time we follow up, it’s the same runaround. The whole process is exhausting and feels like a scam. The claims process is long, tedious, and intentionally confusing. It’s clear they don’t stand by their service and hope you’ll give up before getting any compensation. I deeply regret ever trusting this company with our move. The stress, the loss, the time wasted—it’s not worth it. I will never recommend Safeway Moving Company to anyone. Save yourself the nightmare and go with literally anyone else.
