They wrapped the lamp in several layers of bubble wrap and boxed it securely. My collection of vintage dishes was carefully packed in crates lined with thick paper, ensuring nothing shifted during the drive. When unpacking, they handled my guitar case as if it were made of glass, placing it gently in the corner I had designated.
