I inherited a few items from my grandmother. I called to many movers wanting much more than I could pay. I finally found Menards. They were affordable and did a great job for me.
This was an amazing moving experience, I just had to post! This team was early which was a good sign. They worked with a system that was very efficient. They covered my furniture with blankets and they even took apart some big furniture such as my dining table. They did the extra step to ensure my plants were placed in a secure location. Once they arrived at the new location, they put everything just where I wanted it.
These are some of the movers to consider. The crew turned up on time, respected your privacy, and were dressed in clean uniforms and arrived in a clean truck. They were very careful with packing, added extra bubble wrap and padding for my fragile items, and treated all things with such care. I was amazed at their willingness to use the correct tools to take apart my big furniture units when instead they would push them through narrow doorways. They also tidied up after themselves, sweeping up the small pieces of packing material. Really appreciated the extra effort.
BEWARE. This company is grossly negligent. We disputed a transaction when they sold our moving job to another company that had our belongings for much longer than they said it would take to have them delivered. After speaking with the owner about reversing the dispute, he insisted that I had to pay him immediately or he would cancel our move. As soon as our belongings were delivered, he took both charges. Effectively, stealing the initial charge we had placed the dispute on. We bought the job from an employee who was since fired for lying and underestimating jobs, and misrepresenting Menards as a mover, when they are a broker. When the owner told us he had been fired, he also declined to do anything about the impact on us. We are pursuing legal action.
My husband whom is disabled and myself was contacted by a representative from Manards Moving & Storage after looking on line for movers. The representative's name was Josh and I ask him several times if i could cancel at ANYtime and his response was YES at ANYtime, so we proceeded and gave our deposit of $990.00 on 9-13-2024..I called to cancel on 10-03-2024 but was told i wouldn't get my deposit back because we were outside the cancelation winfow for a refund. I explained that wasn't what i was told. I proceeded to talk with the owner J.Menard and he said that he would listen to the conversation(as it was recorded) and he would get back to me, several weeks later I called him again and he said he did listen to the conversation and I was right that the representative did say i could get a refund at ANYtime. Mr.Menard said that he would put in a request for our deposit to be refunded, as of today May 4,2025 my calls and emails ftom Mr.Menard is no longer being answered or responded to. Please help me get my money back as we are on social security trying to make ends meet.
So, I knew that I had to make a hasty move, at the last moment. I did a whirl and called this moving company which managed to fit me in even though they were booked solid. They worked quickly but didn't rush or break anything. They carefully packed my delicate belongings. They got everything done ahead of schedule. I was really AMAZED by how they dealt with my move-in emergency.
If I could leave negative stars I would. Their team wrote the INCORRECT date on the contract and when I asked them to revise it, they said they would, but never did. The drivers, which are not part of this company, called to ask if I was going to move on a date that was one WEEK after the date in my contract. The poor customer service ladies had to call the dispatcher to correct this, and the driver told me he would arrive in 2 hours…he arrived in 10. When we received our items, ALL the boxes were crushed and wet. Now the story gets worse, the Menards owner “Josh” called me and yelled at me, which he should be apologizing, saying that he has lawyers that can back his contracts and that there’s nothing he can do about the damages that the drivers did… Rather than taking accountability, Josh chose to point fingers like a child.

Menards Moving & Storage was the worst experience I've ever had. The movers were incredibly inexperienced and ruined my move. They were a colossal flop. James & John were so irresponsible that they damaged several of my valuable belongings.
I've transitioned through many places but this was by far the most incredible experience. The crew arrived early - a pleasant surprise. They got to work right away and impressed me with their speed and efficiency in packing all my belongings. One of the guys knew his way around to get things in the right place. The wrapping and packing of my electronics were so tight and nothing got damaged. They made it a very stressful day go off without a hitch.
