A crew assisted with shifting my seasonal farm equipment to the lower field last week. They loaded the various tools and the crates of supplies. The job was finished by the afternoon.
Thanks to these guys moving day was a cakewalk. They even covered the floors and carpets which I was happy to see. They were very mindful of where they put my furniture, they would always ask where I would like it etc. The truck was immaculate and loaded with all the moving supplies required; dollies, straps etc. They truly did so much to make sure everything was right.
One of my furniture pieces was damaged while being moved into the new home. I had expected the crew to take extra precautions with larger items. The damage was disappointing and could have been avoided with more careful handling. I was not happy with the service.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE. This is hands down the WORST company I’ve ever dealt with. I was originally going to rent a U-Haul, but they talked me out of it by saying they were only a couple hundred dollars more and that it was worth it to have “professionals” handle everything. They reassured me multiple times that the price they gave me was final and that certain fees would be waived. That was not true. Their estimate originally included things like a long carry fee, but I specifically questioned it. I literally measured and counted the distance from my apartment door to the elevator and outside to make sure. I was told clearly that I was “good” and that the fee would be waived. Then the actual movers showed up (a completely different company) and immediately said they had to charge the long carry fee—no exceptions. On top of that, they added charges for crating items, bubble wrap/packing materials, and even claimed my dressers were too heavy and required additional fees. None of this matched what Menard had promised. At that point, you’re stuck. You’ve already paid a non-refundable deposit to Menard (who is just a broker), and the movers don’t see that money. So your only options are to pay the inflated price or lose what you already paid. This is a classic BAIT-AND-SWITCH. They tell you whatever you want to hear to lock you in, then the real costs hit when it’s too late to back out. I don’t believe any of the good reviews are real—they don’t reflect what actually happens. The real experiences are in the detailed negative reviews, and they’re all consistent. Save yourself the stress and just go directly with a real moving company or rent a truck. Anything is better than dealing with this.
This was an amazing moving experience, I just had to post! This team was early which was a good sign. They worked with a system that was very efficient. They covered my furniture with blankets and they even took apart some big furniture such as my dining table. They did the extra step to ensure my plants were placed in a secure location. Once they arrived at the new location, they put everything just where I wanted it.
I had to move on short notice, and I did not have time to compare a lot of options. I contacted them, and they explained what they could arrange and how the process would go. They set up the moving team and gave me a timeline, so I knew what to expect. It just made things easier to manage during a busy week.
So, I knew that I had to make a hasty move, at the last moment. I did a whirl and called this moving company which managed to fit me in even though they were booked solid. They worked quickly but didn't rush or break anything. They carefully packed my delicate belongings. They got everything done ahead of schedule. I was really AMAZED by how they dealt with my move-in emergency.
I did not know how to pack my glass table, and I was scared it would break. The person on the phone told me exactly what kind of box to buy and how to wrap the legs. The table arrived fine, and I was grateful for that specific advice.
I needed my things picked up on a Tuesday because my lease ended on Wednesday. They scheduled a truck for Tuesday morning. The truck showed up at nine and was loaded by noon. That timing worked perfectly for me.
The crew arrived behind schedule and did not provide a clear explanation for the delay. Once they arrived, the work progressed much more slowly than I had expected. The entire move ended up taking most of the day. It was a stressful experience overall.
