Long distance move from NJ to TN
Cross Country Movers (CCM), also operating under the name “Moving and Storage” in South Florida, is not a moving company but a broker—a fact they fail to clearly disclose. I was referred to CCM through 2Movers.com while preparing to relocate from New Jersey to Tennessee. The initial interaction was promising: the sales representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided a quote based on my inventory, including a 600 lb safe that required specialized equipment. I was assured they had the necessary tools and capabilities. We scheduled the pickup for June 25, with June 26 as a backup. Two days prior, I had to initiate contact to confirm the date. During the inventory review, the volume increased by 175 cubic feet, which I accepted, but the rate per cubic foot was also raised by 11% without prior notice—cited as a labor adjustment. The pickup was first delayed to June 26 without explanation, despite no rain issues. I will concede that there was a heat wave that Mon through Wed, but that was not the reason given for the delay. The truck was then supposed to arrive at 4pm, but it arrived 30 min late. Oddly, two of the movers arrived on time. Contrary to CCM’s claims, the truck was a third-party rental, not CCM or “Moving and Storage SF” branded, and the crew was neither uniformed nor CCM employees. The driver had just met the laborers that day and paid them in cash. While the crew handled the items with care, the promised equipment for moving the safe was not provided. The team attempted to lift the safe manually, which was unsafe, so I had to leave it behind and will have to arrange for a new, separate transport. Due to volume limits, I had to leave some furniture behind. After loading, we completed paperwork and scheduled delivery no later than July 5. Unfortunately, the delivery process was equally disorganized. I received conflicting updates, and the delivery date shifted multiple times, ultimately landing on July 5. Upon arrival, the truck was not the original one used for pickup, indicating my belongings were transferred without my knowledge or supervision. Payment was required in cash or money order before unloading—no secure payment options were accepted. This led to a tense situation that required police involvement to ensure my items were released. The handling of my belongings during the transfer was careless. Boxes marked “Do Not Stack” were crushed under heavy items, and other customers’ items were mixed in with mine. I had to personally oversee the unloading to ensure proper placement in storage. Conclusion: I cannot recommend Cross Country Movers. Their lack of transparency, use of third-party contractors, poor communication, and mishandling of items made this a highly stressful experience. I strongly advise verifying that any moving company you hire owns its trucks and employs its own trained staff.

I highly recommend Cross Country Movers for anyone planning a move. This was my second time using their services, and once again, they exceeded my expectations. Their team is professional, efficient, and their prices are reasonable. They made my move hassle-free and I couldn't be happier with their service.

If I could do zero star I would
They do not properly take care of your items. Most of your stuff will be broken, stolen, or just downright filthy. Please go use someone else if you actually want to get your stuff as is. Then when you try to get a claim for your items they give you the run around. They subcontract out so there’s no communication or any accountability.

Cross Country Movers makes it look easy.
Quality of work and work ethic. We used Meathead Movers to help me unload when we moved to Morro Bay. (Help me) They did everything, all I had to do was point where I wanted stuff, they even loaded my storage shed. It was a lifesaver for me. We used them again to help my Daughter and family move from an upstairs apartment to a house on the same property. Again, they did all the work. Moving is hard work, Cross Country Movers makes it look easy.

Overall we were very pleased with our move.
Overall we were very pleased with our move. The company communicated with us every step of the move and so did the truck driver/movers. They were very transparent and flexible with pick up and delivery dates to accommodate to our travel schedule. Would recommend this company to anyone.

What a team!
What a team! I was beyond impressed with our move today with Cross Country Movers. Christian, Michael, Alexander, and Kaleb were prompt, professional, and friendly guys. They even put up with our dog! If I were to ever move again, which of course no one hopes to do more than necessary, I would call Cross Country Movers again in a heartbeat.

Highly recommended moving company.
Cross Country Movers helped me move from SF to LA and were excellent. They were timely and very accommodating and made sure that everything was packed carefully. Even when I needed the drop off time to be delayed, they were able to adjust their schedule to meet mine. The movers were also very nice. Highly recommended moving company.

Excellent service and care! These guys came and moved me on the hottest day of the year, and never once complained or slowed down. They wrapped everything and moved it without any mishaps. Highly recommend their services. Very nice and helpful.

From start to finish, the process was professional, organized, and completely stress-free. The team was punctual, careful with every item, and extremely respectful of my time and property. Everything was wrapped properly, handled with care, and delivered exactly as promised. What stood out most was the level of trust. When you’re running a business, you can’t afford surprises or delays and Cross Country Movers gave me total peace of mind during an important transition.

Great Customers Services!
This move felt easier because Cross Country Movers experts took the lead on small details. They had furniture blankets, tools for disassembly, and extra shrink wrap for our glass table. I didn’t lift a finger once they arrived, and they constantly checked in before taping or wrapping anything. I couldn’t have asked for anything else!
