Read More I can't even imagine a worse and more unprofessional "move" - if you can even call it that. If possible I'd give them a negative star. After I had wood workers come in an access damage done to handmade Amish furniture, and I looked into replacing demolished floor lamps [all 5,] a cracked and permanently damaged 75" tv, lost items, broken glass frames, broken pottery, broken glass frames, even broken mops, gouged and scraped additional furniture - the total damage done was as much as the cost of the total move. When the driver showed up he had only two local men to move a 3,200 sq ft house. One of those two was a "recovering meth addict" who told me I shouldn't talk to the other man/mover who couldn't hear well and didn't like people. The driver saw how slow the move was going, after the first mover had to sit in his truck for a half hour because he was going tho pass out, he asked two house painters who were wrapping up their job next door to help out. All 4 told me they had NO experience moving. Then the driver said they'd have to come back the next day. This was the last day of the time frame Colonial Van Lines had picked. The house was sold and the keys were being turned over the next day. The move had to continue. The driver's answer was to start tossing furniture into the van without any coverings, padding, blankets, etc. It was a joke. I ended up leaving a $1,000 BBQ at the house because it was close to midnight and they couldn't handle it. I later found out there were at least 3 large pieces of furniture that were supposed to stay at the house for the new buyer. They were clearly marked - this cost me as I had to pay the buyer for those missing items as they were part of the purchase price. When the items were delivered to my new home numerous pieces that were broken were hidden behind other items, chunks of wood were glued back onto the furniture so at first glance I couldn't tell they were so damaged. The main mover cornered me alone several times telling me to give him the tips for this set of movers, instead of giving it to the driver, which is customary, - when I refused he was threatening. He also made sexual and financial comments about me to another mover. I was concerned for my safety and was worried he would come back after the move. He also threatened the driver who actually showed me the threatening texts. This was the most unprofessional job imaginable. The damage was at least 10K - Colonial Van lines offered around $800 - with a straight face. DO NOT take a risk with this company, there are too many other reputable companies out there - this is not one of them. There may be a some good reviews - but the chance that what happened to me could happen to you - is NOT worth the risk!!!! Colonial clearly just contracts out the work. They set up the contract and take your money but after that - they do not monitor a THING!!!! Go elsewhere for your move! I tried to add photos of the damage to this review but was unable to do so .

It’s so tough to find decent movers. I won’t use anyone but Colonial in the future. I was impressed A-Z. I have even recommended them to realtors and so many others. They care about the customers experience.
