Avoid this company at all costs.
When looking for movers I fell for the AMEX scam, thinking their glowing reviews were real when they are not. I had incorrectly assumed this was a company with its own intake, movers, and drivers, instead Michelle acts as logistics working with outside contractors. During our intake call with Patrick (who is a sales broker NOT an AMEX employee), I provided a detailed itemized list of everything in the move (including dimensions for furniture) with video and photos. We were quoted 960 cubic feet at around $8k for a full pack and move. We paid the deposit and were told we would receive our items in our move-in date, which was a LIE. Additionally, we were not told upfront that the last two payments had to be in money orders. On the day of the move, Austin showed up with 2 men in an AMEX truck. Though they all had AMEX shirts, it was clear that Austin was a contractor that had then found 2 people to work with him. After his walk through, Austin told us we were under quoted and said we needed at least 1500, which would take us to $12k. We were obviously upset and immediately called Michelle. She was absolutely no help in the situation, pretending not to understand why we would be mad at suddenly having to pay $4k more. Having no choice, we went on with the packing and move. It took the 3 men 11 hours. And, as we would find out later why, we ended up having to leave behind 8 pieces of furniture because we would have needed even more space in the truck. We had to scramble to sell things and lost so much money doing so. During this day of hell, we were also told that we would NOT be receiving our items on our move in day - that they have to wait for a truck to be going that direction to put our stuff on. Had we been told that before, we would have been more strategic in what we did NOT pack and to keep with us! We had to continually call and text Michelle for updates as to where our stuff was, because, we had put AirTags in some boxes we knew they hadn’t left yet. At our new home, we had to buy air mattresses and other essentials while we waited two weeks for our stuff to arrive. We also had to buy almost all new furniture. Not only was the move itself overly expensive, we ended up spending thousands more to replace to furniture we had to leave behind. The 2 men who arrived with our belongings, were also clearly contractors. While unloading, they continually mentioned how lightweight the boxes were, how many of the boxes were misshaped because they were not full, and how certain materials were placed in the wrong boxes. They asked if we had packed ourselves and were shocked to hear we had paid AMEX for packing. As we began to unpack, we found that at least 75% of the boxes were half full. Meaning, our items would have taken up less space if the boxes had actually been packed to capacity. This is a complete SCAM and utterly unacceptable. We also found broken glassware, broken mirrors, bent books, and other damaged objects, because, again, the boxes were not packed correctly. This horrible packing cost us thousands of dollars in cubic square feet. This “company” is, at its core, dishonest. They scam you into thinking they are legitimate, when in fact, no one, except Michelle, actually works at AMEX.

We recently used Amex moving and Storage to move my daughter from NYC to Orlando FL. Was quoted $3,500.00 for a tiny one bedroom apartment. The movers showed up at her Apartment as scheduled and then the nightmare began. Driver had to park another 100' away so his office immediately called telling me only 75' from truck to front door is included. I said fine, charge me for the additional distance. Then they made it up to the apartment and said they didn't have a mattress cover included in the price and i would have to pay extra, then they said they wouldn't move TV's in the boxes they came in that they had to use their own crate and that would be extra, and then they said mirrors would cost extra and then they said that lamps need a special cover and that would be extra. I told the lady on the phone that i felt that this was one big bait and switch exercise and that i felt i was being taken advantage of. She immediately threatens to leave and tell her drivers to leave. I said no, i don't have time to start all over again and we had a deadline to be out of the apartment, plus they had my $700.00 deposit. She said for the extras it would be another $1,000.00. I was in shock. That is one third the amount of the entire move. I agree because they have me bent over a barrel. So now they get to Orlando a week or so later and the disaster starts all over again. Did i mention they demand Cash only at delivery so i had to get $3,900.00 in cash the day before arrival. They arrive at the house and now demand the Cash without allowing us to inventory or inspect the items. The driver get the crazy lady on the phone and she starts yelling and screaming at my wife and me and telling the drivers to just leave. Finally one of the movers opens the truck to allow us to make sure all of our stuff is there but still wont unpack it. Now she is yelling at him telling him not to do it. We finally resolve with the drivers and get our stuff, but it was an absolute nightmare. These people are crooks and will take advantage of you. I highly recommend you stay clear of this company. We have moved several times and have never been treated like this and have never paid Cash. Run fast and far from these folks.

They were professional, timely, and worked hard.
My experience with Amex Moving & Storage was nothing short of excellent. We moved from a large house to a smaller one, which required a lot of planning. The crew, especially Kendry, was thoughtful and helped us decide what to move and how to best arrange it. Everything arrived safely and on schedule. I am extremely pleased.

keep away your valuables from this company
I am changing my original review which was only on pickup not the entire process. I moved from NY to Florida. I researched different moving companies and compare it to moving myself. The POD didn’t have the size I needed. AMERISAFE gave me a great discount that equaled to the cost of renting a U-HAUL truck one way. But their service included loading and unloading the truck. The other companies were comparable without the discount. AMERISAFE is a broker an outsource to a moving company which you won’t be aware of to review. They outsource the people to unload and load the items. There were 2 issues that resulted because of this: delivery date and requirements of accessibility for the truck. Initially I was told when the items are picked up it will be delivered within 4 days however it took 2 weeks and I didn’t receive 24 hour notice. I requested to be informed when the items were on the way but didn’t get one. I put an AirTag in one of the boxes which is how I was able to track it. The other issue was I had to make sure that the place can accommodate an18 wheeler. I had to switch my storage unit to ensure that the truck has access or I would be charge $500 for shuttling my item. My stuff was loaded/unloaded 4 times before it came to me. When the items finally arrived, some boxes were damaged and some storage bins were broken. I haven’t had a chance to go through the items to see if anything was broken but that isn’t covered by them since I packed it myself. I can’t compare them to any others but what I know now I would of drove my items down myself.

The whole experience was so pleasant
Javier and his team handled the relocation of our medical office equipment. They treated each item with care and followed every instruction carefully. The movers double-checked details before loading and unloading, which gave me a lot of confidence. All items arrived safely and on time.

Friendly and helpful guys!
I had been fretting about relocating our big, heavy upright piano but the crew seemed to know exactly what they were doing. They were equipped with special harnesses and knew their way around narrow passages. All was well, we arrived with nothing broken.
