They kept their word about the timing and didn’t show up late. I appreciated that. Everything was already ready at my end, and they got straight to it.
This was my first time using professional movers, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was much easier than we were able to do everything ourselves. Heavy lifting, organized wrapping and loading of furniture into the truck. It was a big relief to have to hand the hard work to the professionals.
I hired Americas Family & Moving Services to move just my patio furniture and grill to my new house. It was a simple job, but they treated it professionally. They wrapped everything up securely. The price for the small load was very fair.
I’m pleased with the job done by the moving crew. They were respectful of my items and made sure everything was securely packed before transport. They completed the move quickly without bumping stuff into the corners.
The whole practice was well planned from the preliminary co-ordination to the final unloading. They were friendly and had taken care of our belongings.
The only worse possibility would be that my stuff never made it. Pretty dang close though, I was sold an experience that was not provided. The communication after the first phone call was nonexistent, there were surprise fees after the fact, and they held onto our things over 5 weeks past when we had discussed. It got to a point where I truly thought I'd never see our things again. The moving brokerage company wouldn't respond for a week at times or until I called multiple times in a row, and even then, it was just a text. When our things showed up missing two bins and a broken tv, they sent us to the wrong insurance company for a claim. After many calls I was finally able to get the correct one, and we won't know for months whether we'll get anything back from it. If anyone who was delivered in late November or December got two extra black totes with yellow lids please email me. There are sentimental items I would love to see again. [email protected]
This was not our first attempt, so we did know what could go wrong. Luckily this time it was much simpler and we didn't have to spend the whole day chasing the movers around.
Glad I chose this company. The move was simple, fair, and done right. The team worked quietly and handled my belongings with care. Things arrived on time, and nothing was missing. I liked that they didn’t rush but kept things steady. It felt like they actually cared about doing it properly.
I was quoted a price over the phone with a salesman from the company without coming to the home. I asked them to co.e to the home and see exactly what needs to be picked up. He said that it would be very costly to come to the home and that we could send pictures of everything. I sent the pictures of all of the furniture that I needed moved and he quoted me a price of the pictures that he saw and sent me an electronic contract. I had to give him half upfront and then half after it was delivered . I excepted that and proceeded. When the movers came they showed up the day it was to be picked up but not until the evening when it was already dark. I waited all day and when they did show up it was in a rental truck and did not say America's family movers. They came and took more picture of the furniture and then said that the price is increasing as will take up more space in the truck. It actually doubled in price, spoke with a lady from company and said not responsible for third party as they are a broker and get another company to move the furniture. Did not know that and cant get money returned . so I had alot already invested and needed to move as leaving the next day. I had to zelle the money as they will not take credit cards or debit . It had to be zelled. how convenient as you can't dispute a zelle through the bank. Basically stealing more money . the furniture was to be delivered on the 12th and did not come till the day after. they were suppose to put the furniture back together and only partially put some together. Too lazy to do the rest. When they put all the furniture in the home there was a big scrape on the dinning room table. Clearly quite damaged. they took a Picture of it said they would let there supervisor know. I also took a picture of it and sent it to the company. We'll they told me that it's a separate department that takes care of damages and gave me the number. called that number and nobody answers the phone. The. I get an email to submit a claim and so I did and they said claim can't be submitted as they want a copy of fro t a d back of contract. it's an electronic contract.the whole thing is a scam. americas family moving company is a broker not an actual moving company, stay far away from them.
They are deserving of all praise for their movers! My Grandmother was going into a live in care facility and she was very nervous about the move. But the movers treated her like family – they engaged her in conversation, reassured her and even took extra care with her favorite rocking chair. Once they brought her to them they created her new room in the same way that it was at her house and the transition seemed slightly easier. It meant the world to her!
