When my company transferred me from Miami, FL to Chicago, IL, I was nervous about how fast I had to move. America First Moving worked around my tight schedule and got everything to my new apartment right when they said they would.
Moving from Portland, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina felt overwhelming, especially with two kids and a dog. America First Moving handled everything from packing to unloading, and they were patient with our constant questions. The movers kept us updated during the entire route, which helped ease our nerves.
If i could give zero starts, I would. This company is an absolute scam. Even though we showed him all the items in the video call for couple of hrs. They intentionally gave us a low ball estimate by reducing the cubic ft. On the day of pickup, they would argue about the cubic ft and the person who originally estimated wont pickup your call. When they estimate, they would do sweet talk to get the order. We had to pay additional 30% of the money since we dont have choice at the time of pickup. Whats worse is, they blatantly lied about not out sourcing - my move was handled by multiple different companies, none of which were professional or reliable. All of our Bi-cycles broke, some of the boxes were damaged. Initially they told they will deliver in 2-3 days when they want to get the order but they delivered only after 2 weeks. The guys who delivered made all of our carpet dirty in our apartment. We asked to clean it up but they didnt saying they dont have cleaning stuff and they have to urgently deliver something else. Avoid this company at all costs unless you want stress, hidden fees, broken promises and zero accountability. Total nightmare.

They arrived right on time, packed my fragile kitchenware and artwork with care, and handled my furniture without a single scratch. The movers were professional, efficient, and really friendly. America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
They worked diligently to provide us with the utmost of services, we have no complains whatsoever, best movers in the area for sure.
We moved from Wichita, Kansas to Naperville, Illinois just before Christmas break for my spouse’s promotion. America First Moving stayed professional and patient even when our schedule shifted slightly.
