I moved from San Jose, California to Raleigh, North Carolina in mid-December for a new engineering role. Even with winter weather and holiday traffic, America First Moving delivered exactly when promised. My home office setup arrived in perfect condition.
I had to relocate from St. Petersburg to Richmond, VA from a 1-bedroom apartment. America First Moving made the process quick and painless. They packed up in under three hours, stayed in contact throughout the drive, and delivered everything in perfect shape.
Complete scam. They sent a third party to move my stuff, who demanded an extra $2500 to do the job, which I had to pay. I felt like I was being blackmailed. I had to agree to the extra payment because I needed to move my stuff ASAP, and they took advantage of it. Never had such a bad experience with a mover.
My move from Spokane, WA to Phoenix, AZ could not have gone better. America First Moving handled every step professionally, from the initial pickup to the final delivery. The movers were punctual, respectful, and extremely careful with all of my belongings.
I accepted a new position in Charleston, South Carolina and needed to move quickly from Asheville, North Carolina. America First Moving got everything packed and delivered on time. The crew worked efficiently and kept in touch throughout the trip.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
We moved our 3 bedroom home from Jacksonville, FL to Nashville, TN. The movers were incredibly professional and treated our belongings like their own. Safe Travels Moving and Storage really lived up to their name.
Our family moved from McKinney, Texas to Franklin, Tennessee, and the size of our home made us nervous. America First Moving sent a well-prepared crew that worked efficiently while still being careful. Every box arrived intact, and the unloading process was organized and calm. They made a big move feel manageable.
If i could give zero starts, I would. This company is an absolute scam. Even though we showed him all the items in the video call for couple of hrs. They intentionally gave us a low ball estimate by reducing the cubic ft. On the day of pickup, they would argue about the cubic ft and the person who originally estimated wont pickup your call. When they estimate, they would do sweet talk to get the order. We had to pay additional 30% of the money since we dont have choice at the time of pickup. Whats worse is, they blatantly lied about not out sourcing - my move was handled by multiple different companies, none of which were professional or reliable. All of our Bi-cycles broke, some of the boxes were damaged. Initially they told they will deliver in 2-3 days when they want to get the order but they delivered only after 2 weeks. The guys who delivered made all of our carpet dirty in our apartment. We asked to clean it up but they didnt saying they dont have cleaning stuff and they have to urgently deliver something else. Avoid this company at all costs unless you want stress, hidden fees, broken promises and zero accountability. Total nightmare.
