America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!

Even though my 2-bedroom home had a lot of awkward-shaped furniture, they packed it like puzzle pieces with no wasted space. The movers were friendly and hardworking, making the entire experience a pleasant one.
I moved from Dallas, Texas to Tampa, Florida for a new start after college. America First Moving made it all stress-free. They handled my long-distance move like pros, keeping me updated until everything was delivered safely.
My family and I just moved from Naples, FL to Austin, TX and used America First Moving. It was a 4-bedroom house with a lot of oversized furniture, including a piano and big sectional sofa. I really appreciated how the movers worked as a team and didn’t cut corners. They were polite, kept me in the loop about timing, and everything arrived just like it left. It’s rare to see that kind of consistency these days, but they delivered.
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.
With our third baby on the way, we moved from Tampa, FL to Greenville, SC for more space. America First Moving was incredible — they packed everything carefully, labeled boxes for each room, and stayed patient despite the chaos of toddlers running around.
So we had a drop off date of June 10th or 12th I was told today that we will not get our belongings until the 15 or 16th. Sitting here in our new home with none of our belongings. I would not recommend this company to anyone. These guys are brokers and once they get paid you’re basically at the mercy of whoever they find to pick up and drop off your belongings. On top of that you agree on a price sign the contract and then they want more money out of you because they have no idea the sizes and shapes of your belongings so what you think your getting is not what you actually get unless you want to pay more.
Thanks to America First Moving, I got their best services twice. All the staff, even the movers, were impeccable. They were not only the first to respond when I asked for quotes from 5 other movers, but they also had the best pricing by far. The movers were extremely careful with my furniture and used their time excellently. We heartily suggest them for an easy move!
