What I liked most was how much they respected my time. They showed up right on the dot, worked without unnecessary breaks, and finished ahead of schedule. They didn't rush carelessly either; every item was treated as if it were fragile. It's hard to find that balance between speed and caution, but they pulled it off perfectly. We hired Alma Moving to move our belongings from Charlotte, NC to Norfolk, VA (only a 5-hour distance). Before signing, their representative promised delivery within 1–3 days. Based on this, we signed. • After pickup on August 15, nothing arrived within 3 days. • Then they told us 7 days. Still nothing. • Later, they claimed our belongings were “on the way,” but weeks passed. Today it has been 25 days, and we still don’t know where our belongings are. They never respond to emails, only through BBB. We even asked to pick up our items ourselves, but they ignored us. At pickup, their staff wrapped our couch in a dirty blanket, even though we provided clean plastic covers. This makes us worry that our items are being stored in poor, unhygienic conditions. We have been forced to live in an empty house, buy new essentials, and suffer both financial and emotional stress. If our belongings arrive damaged, we will take legal action. We strongly warn others: do not trust Alma Moving. They are misleading, unprofessional, and provide false information just to make you sign.
The movers were really polite and worked tirelessly to get everything packed and loaded. They helped me disassemble my bed frame! The total cost came to about $9,800, but with the level of service I received, I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!
These specialists from Alma Moving are the real deal. My antique furniture required special handling, and they brought extra blankets and foam pads just for that. They took photos before disassembling anything, so reassembly was a breeze at the new house. I also noticed they wore gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on polished surfaces. Talk about professional! The entire experience felt like first-class treatment for my possessions.
Bubble wrap was also used to encase the mirror. On delivery, the contents were found to be in a completely damaged mirror and a dresser with a large split along one side. "Maybe you should have chosen better-quality furniture," the movers smirked as they responded to my questions. I was devastated by their lack of sensitivity and professionalism.
I had a lot of fragile kitchenware packed up in boxes. I expected at least one broken plate, but everything made it to my new home perfectly fine. That level of care really stood out to me.
The meticulous care they took in wrapping each item, regardless of size, was reassuring. They ensured that everything arrived intact, with no damages or losses. Upon arrival at my new residence, they were equally diligent, placing each item precisely where I desired and assisting with unpacking and organization.
I only needed help unloading a moving van I drove myself. Even though it wasn’t a full-service move, the guys were just as friendly and cautious with my belongings. They helped me place each piece of furniture carefully in my new apartment.
