Read More Do not even consider using Alliance Van Lines. I'm a single 69 year old female and was moving from Maine to SC. I basically had a queen bed, a small side table, two outside chairs and small side table along with 18 boxes. I called a few different companies and somehow my info got out and I was inundated with calls from moving companies. After deciding to go with a different company, I get an email from Alliance two days before my planned move saying the company I chose didn't have a truck for me and to call them asap. I called Alliance immediately and they went on to bad mouth the other company, I was in a panic so I said let me call them, as I already gave a deposit and I'll call you back. Oh no they said, you'll loose your spot if you don't give a deposit now. So I gave them $895. After hanging up I immediately called the original company and they explained it wasn't true and that Alliance was using predatory practices. I then called Alliance back to cancel, all within an hour but they refused to refund me saying it was in the contract. I never signed a contract. Fighting for three months and crickets. I live on a limited budget and this was a very hard hit.

Read More I put my info and request online for movers to take my belongings from PA to TN. Dave from Alliance Van Lines called me, along with 5 other companies trying to give me quotes. Prior to speaking with Dave, I had received 2 other quotes and was planning to use one of them. Dave sounded like a used car sales man, very pushy and rushed; “limited time offer if you reserve right now”. He gave me a quote, when I said I had one for $1,000 less, he dropped his price down $1100 and added extra things like “long haul” and “elevator or stairs” to sweeten the deal. This all sounded great so I booked but later I learned that Alliance is a broker and not the actual moving company and the information Dave gave me was either inaccurate or he did not fully explain things; he just wanted the business. I will never use this company again, nor recommend it.
