How to write a review

By MGM Editorial Team Last updated

You can review a moving company if you hired it, booked it or paid it a deposit, even if the move went wrong or never happened.

Steps

  1. Find the moving company on My Good Movers and open its profile.
  2. Click Write a Review.
  3. Enter your move details: when you moved, where you moved from and to, the size of your move and, if you want, what you paid.
  4. Choose a star rating, give your review a title and write about your experience (at least 100 characters).
  5. If you want, add photos from your move.
  6. Enter your name and email address, then submit.
  7. Open the email we send you and click the link to confirm your email address. Your review isn’t published until you do.

You don’t need an account. We use your email only to check your review and to contact you about it. We never publish it.

What happens next

Every review goes through our checks before it’s published, including an AI tool that flags reviews that may break our guidelines. Our moderators decide on every flagged review. Most reviews are published within a few days. When your review goes live, we email you a Delete Review link you can use at any time. We may ask you for proof of your move, so keep your estimate, contract, invoice or bill of lading.

Tips for a helpful review

  • Say what you were quoted and what you finally paid.
  • Say whether pickup and delivery happened when promised.
  • Describe how the crew handled your belongings and any problems with damage or claims.
  • Stick to facts, and write it yourself. Reviews written by AI tools or by someone else aren’t allowed.
  • Only add photos you took of your own move. Hide any card or bank details, and don’t show people who haven’t agreed to appear.
