The actual move was professional enough by the third party broker but the business practices are the definition of sleaze. -Hard sell cold call sold us based on a quote of 1600 for a two bedroom house to move 20 miles..."we are just a family American company from Wyoming". Assured us they were using their employees -Got email a week before saying our move could be either our planned moving day or the next which was unacceptable. We tried to cancel but they eventually relented and c onfbirmed the planned day - Were supposed to call 72 hours before to confirm final inventory and price estimate. We did have more stuff than estimated but we finally tracked them down and they just said maybe a little more like 1800 depends on how much of a 1200 sq ft truck you fill with no second inventory offered to prepare us for the price -Turns out we filled the truck so ok it should have been more. The original quote was 1600 for 695 sq ft. Based on 1200 sq ft it should have fairly then been 2762 right? Variable costs the same right?I am not even counting the greater contribution to fixed costs. Nope 3700 dollars. They know how this game works so expect the same. They may put in some flowerly bs justification iin response but I know what I know. I will say the move was professional and we did do too much pre packing. They will do it. If you want a professional totally hands off move maybe but take what I am saying as fair warning and be very proactive withh them. They know all the tricks and maybe you can have it done at a fair price but doubt it. They screwed themselves out of a lot more with us because we plan a much longer move in June 27 that might realistically be in the 8-10 k range but I wouldn;t touch them with a ten foot pole no matter what trick from their playbook they try..

However, we would like to clarify several important points because your comments suggest that you personally handled the transaction and communications with our company, which is not accurate. Our records reflect that you did not personally speak with our team regarding the booking, estimate, inventory, or contractual terms. The transaction and communications were handled by your wife. In fact, during our communications with her, she informed our team that you had not been significantly involved in reviewing the details of the move or the agreement. For that reason, several statements in your review regarding what our representatives allegedly “assured” you of are concerning, as those conversations did not take place with you. Your review appears to characterize communications and representations that were made during a transaction you were not personally involved in. Additionally, as acknowledged in your own review, the shipment contained considerably more property than originally estimated. The original estimate was based on 31 items / 76 pieces, while the final inventory increased to 48 items / 134 pieces. Pricing cannot reasonably remain based on the original inventory when the shipment increases by 58 pieces, or approximately 76%. It is also important to clarify that the final price is not calculated by simply taking the original price and multiplying it proportionally by cubic footage. An estimate can include fixed charges, transportation rates, labor, packing or additional services, and other applicable charges. Therefore, the calculation presented in your review does not necessarily represent how the revised charges were determined. Most importantly, after the move was completed, our Client Relations Department contacted your wife for a customer-satisfaction follow-up. She advised our team that everything went great and specifically stated that the movers were awesome. No complaint regarding the pricing or allegations of a “bait and switch” was raised during that conversation. These follow-up calls are specifically conducted to identify concerns and determine what we can improve. We appreciate that you acknowledged the moving crew was professional. However, we respectfully disagree with the characterization of our company as engaging in “sleaze,” “tricks,” or intentionally misleading practices. A significant increase in the amount of property being transported will result in an adjustment to an estimate, and that is materially different from arbitrarily increasing a customer`s price. We welcome legitimate criticism and use customer feedback to improve our operations, but we also believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect who participated in the transaction, what was actually communicated, and the substantial change between the original and final inventory. Following the completion of your move, our Client Relations Department contacted you specifically to conduct our post-move customer satisfaction follow-up. We perform these calls after moves to hear directly from our customers about their experience and identify anything we can improve. During that conversation, you advised our team that everything went great and that the movers were awesome. At no point during that call did you raise a complaint regarding the pricing, the inventory adjustment, or characterize your experience as a “bait and switch.” For that reason, our team was extremely surprised to later see multiple negative reviews posted by both you and your husband describing an experience very different from the feedback provided to us directly. Another significant detail omitted from this review is the substantial change in the size of your shipment. Your original estimate was based on 31 items / 76 pieces. By the time your inventory was finalized, it had increased to 48 items / 134 pieces. That represents an increase of 58 pieces—approximately 76% more pieces than originally estimated. While that is not mathematically “more than double,” it is a very substantial increase in the amount being moved. The original price was an estimate based on the inventory and volume provided at the time of booking. When the quantity and volume of the shipment materially increase, the estimate must be adjusted accordingly. The price was not increased simply because your move date was approaching; it was adjusted to account for the significantly larger shipment being transported. We certainly understand that no customer is pleased to see their moving cost increase. However, describing an adjustment resulting from a substantial increase in inventory as a “bait and switch” does not accurately reflect what occurred. Had the final inventory consisted of the same quantity and volume originally provided, there would have been no basis for such a significant adjustment. However, you did in fact used the 1200cf worth of space as estimated. We value both positive and negative feedback, but we also believe reviews should include the complete circumstances surrounding the services. We remain particularly disappointed that none of these concerns were brought to our attention when our Client Relations team specifically contacted you after the move and gave you the opportunity to discuss your experience.
