Scam movers
The salesman, Paris, told me one thing and when the movers (who they outsourced to a horrible company called Sala Movers out of New Jersey) it was the complete opposite. I was told the mover who arrived at my house would accept credit cards. Upon arrival the two movers laughed when I asked about the credit card machine and said no moving company carries card machines. My move was delayed because I had to write a check and Sala would not move my furniture until the check cleared five business days later. My bank said there was no way that it would take five days to clear. Also, Emerald quoted $10k for the move from Texas to Washington state. Sala tried to charge me $24k but they didn't tell me that until they had packed half of my stuff. So we decided to pack the rest of our furniture in U-Haul pods (which were great!). The pods arrived in Washington 1 week before Sala's truck arrived. Sala only sent 1 person to unload all of our stuff! So we ended up helping him unload our stuff. Of course, there were items that were scratched, including my floors.

Crooked company
I hired Emerald to move me from Knoxville TN to Sebring Florida. I paid a large deposit and 30 days prior to my move paid another large deposit. Confirmed with the company when my move was scheduled for. The 2nd day before my move of June 5 still nobody contacted me to confirm when they would be here. Emerald customer service was non existent and I eventually hired another crooked moving company because nobody ever was going to pick up my stuff. NEVER USE THESE CROOKS. You know when they will not take a credit card they are crooked and want no accountablity. SAVE YOUR MONEY HIRE SOMEONE ELSE. I have asked for my 2nd deposit back and they refuse and I know otheres have had similar experiences with them.

Thank you for making it so easy
My move went great! I just moved here from Nebraska last year, my family moved to Boston to be closer to our church family and everything went very smooth. No confusion, no hidden fee's and fast pickup and delivery. Thank you Emerald I will be use you again in the near future to move my sisters family up here too

Humble and Able Team!
I love this company, they really calmed me and my nervousness in regard to my move. I have not ever moved on my own before but my booking call was fairly simple, I just was not sure of my box count. Luckily I got to tidy up all those lose ends before pickup and everything was very smooth and efficient. Surprisingly so actually. Very satisfied, thank you Emerald!

DO NOT USE THEM
Like many others, my experience started off well. The salesman was kind and assured me this would be an easy move with no issues. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill from there. They requested a deposit in the form of a check, which I later realized was a tactic to make it difficult to get a refund. About a week before the move, I received a call from a man who was unprofessional and argumentative. When I asked simple questions, he had a temper tantrum and demanded an additional $1,500. He made it clear that if I refused to pay, I would have to cancel—and I wouldn’t receive a refund. After reviewing the contract, I saw that they only allow a few days to cancel with a refund after booking, which feels deceptive. Fortunately, my sister-in-law works for the Florida Attorney General’s office, and I have forwarded all the details to her. I hope they take action against this company.

What A Scam
WORST COMPANY EVER. To give us our initial estimate they said to just give them a rough estimate of things in our house, especially large items and then for anything additional we would be charged $3.70 per cubic foot when we did the final inventory call 3 days before the move. I had packed most of our stuff about a month before and called to update the inventory and they said to wait until the inventory call three days before. I also asked to know what company would possibly be moving us since I had found out AFTER the deposit that it wasn’t them (contrary to what the rep said initially) and they refused to provide that information. On the inventory call three days before our move went from $2800 to $9100. Our cubic feet had gone up and for small items they basically said it had doubled but they didn’t just charge us $3.70 per cubic foot, they added a $500 fee for changing the inventory and changed their estimate fee from $1600 to $3600. So they added over $2500 just in fees. I think they try to trap people into going with them because it’s too late by making you wait to give an updated inventory until three days before the move so you won’t have other options. We ended up canceling, received no refund/partial refund on our deposit and were treated extremely unprofessionally. Now we’re using a u-haul because we have no other options. Choose any other moving company!!

I requested a quote got 100 calls promising best lowest price frome nicest young lady just sweet as could be said didn't need to have exact count of items didn't sent someone to help inventory pre packed storage unit estimated Conte n to by size of unit and I itemized few misc thing I remembered as a elderly disabled widow of active war veteran I explained I needed more time to verify items on own had newborn baby crying while in call don't worry she said we run our own trucks everything will be fine we will get your things there..a man then messages you for quality call you missed when never received call saying if don't have exact list of items you will get charged prime rate when call back there he's mean cold says I didn't have exact info of what was in storage and my responsibility now after I already left for new home 800 miles away with kids in my wheelchair refuse to send someone to locker for viewing and accurate quote increases my shipping by over 2000.00 Says if don't pay won't deliver my things will leave my stuff behind if I cancel I lose deposit so he doesn't care what I decide to do not his problem if I get my stuff harshly every comment I made told me he didn't have time to deal with me pay it or don't wouldn't help walk me thru online re agreement like lady did to start agreement now wish just took loss of deposit sitting here scared I was scammed and my kids will never get stuff ..praying to God we just didn't spend every last penny we had to this terrible man I would never recommend this company poor business tactics just sad that companies resort to white collar thievery from senior citizens then it fugitive you thru making Review to make you give up erasing info making fill it out over n over

Typical bait and switch
The salesman took my inventory and didn’t record the things I relayed to him. I had similar inventories with 3 other companies all coming in at the same price, Emerald was a few hundred dollars cheaper. A week before when they called to double check my inventory they now want to charge me $2k more, I gave each company the same inventory, there was given verbally the others electronically, i should of known better

Scam!
Bait and switch.My $5000 quote ended up being $15000. They need a class action lawsuit for what they’ve done to so many people. I was treated horrible by the movers “Sala”, stuff broken, missing and the fake CSI claim never paid. Im still heartbroken over this.

scam
They said to just give them a rough estimate of how many boxes, and storage containers, and what items would be going onto the truck. I told them about all the items that were not in boxes. And come June when we did a final inventory the items, I initially told them about that were not going to be in boxes, they were not on the list, so they said since there were more items than initially quoted the price was going to increase. I told them it's not my fault the lady didn't add the items i told her about. Then they told us it would take months for my stuff to get to where I was moving when I was told it would only take a few weeks at most. So we had to pay more in order to get it sooner. I was also told that I had to get money orders that was the only thing they would take once my stuff was delivered. so, i got them. Then when my stuff was delivered I was told that they can't take western union money orders they have to be postal money orders, I had already made them out to Mak Elite who are the movers that had my stuff, and so I couldn't cancel them, I had to send them to western union. My mother had to send me the money so now all together this move has cost me over $7000.00. I get the money for them, and they tell me i have to sign something before I get my stuff, I tell them I'm not signing anything that says i received my items until it's all off the truck, they said that's not what this is. I looked at it; I didn't see anything on there that said I received my items in good condition. But down at the bottom in small lettering it said just that. I had to sign that, or they wouldn't give me my items off the truck. The mover also left before I even had the chance to inform them that I had multiple missing boxes, and a missing storage container. and that I had someone else's box. They broke my bed, left my entertainment center upside down, dropped a box and broke irreplaceable pieces inside. And the company said I should have informed the movers of the missing boxes when they were delivered, and I tried to explain to them multiple times that the movers left without a word while I was checking everything. So, whatever you do DO NOT use this company go with a company that is registered with the BBB and double check reviews, weight your boxes, label them, and number them, inventory every box, container. this was an eye opener.
