The movers put extra padding around it, carefully wrapped it in multiple layers, and placed it in the truck. I couldn't have been happier when I got it in one piece. I can only say thank you to them for taking care of my most precious possession!
My move involved hauling furniture up three flights of stairs into an old apartment with no elevator. Most of it was large, including a sleeper sofa and a solid wood bookshelf. I figured there'd be scuffs or dents, but everything arrived just fine. The movers took their time with the corners and stairs, avoiding any forced movements. I was genuinely surprised by how smooth it all went.
