The crew was energetic and professional in their approach, as they moved from a multi-story townhouse which was daunting. Outstanding effort!
We told the company we couldn't afford more than 2,500. They took our measurements of our stuff we needed moved from California to Wisconsin. They agreed to the 2,500 and had us put down a 1,500 deposit. When the company showed up it wasn't even the company we contracted with. We weren't there when they picked it up. They then told up we had to pay an additional 1,500 and if we didn't pay then they would leave but we would lose our deposit. Then third company that dropped it off called us the day before and at first told us that they were not sure that their truck would fit to deliver it and told us we might need to do a "soft launch" for an additional 600-700 more. We refused and told them their truck would have no issues getting to our house. It was delivered then with no more up charges. One of the chairs were broken upon delivery and we were told we have a wounded soldier then they took all of the moving blankets we were told by the second company that we purchased.
I hired Choice Van Lines to move me from Manhattan to New Jersey. On August 17th, they came and only took half of the things because of my square footage and then asked for another $4,000 to move the rest. I did not pay them. However, it is four days later and I haven't received my belongings.I've called customer service numerous times and the broker and no one seems to know where the driver is or wants to help me. So, cautionary tale: don't use Choice Van Lines if you're moving interstate. Additionally, what could they improve? Probably calling to let somebody know when they're coming. I was told they would come between 12 and 3, and they were much later; what could they improvecommunication and caring: calling in ahead, returning calls, and taken action on unprofessional behavior.
I create marionettes and hand puppets. Each one has its own personality. The crew treated my puppets like they were alive. They asked their names. They packed them with care. When we arrived, they helped me set up my small puppet theater. It was a joyful and whimsical move.
The office staff provided excellent service, but the movers did not. They worked at a very slow pace and didn't make good use of their dolly. My furniture and boxes should not have taken 4 hours to move such a short distance. Very disappointing.
Scheduling and customer service were great, but the actual moving team was inefficient. They seemed to waste a lot of time, and even my family had to step in to help. Despite a short drive, the move took much longer than expected.
The movers moved in and out of a 4-story townhouse without any problems, since the house has a lot of furniture. They were very good with them. Thoroughly impressed!
No star. They quoted me a little under 5k for my move for a 26' truck with a lift gate and farmed it out to a sub they work with that thought It was half a truck and that company apologized and said they couldn't do it unless I paid almost 11k. I am now renting a truck on a holiday weekend to deliver a museum exhibit. They told me that my 2k deposit was Un refundable and then told me that the guy that I book this with got my financial details wrong so they haven't been paid. Good luck getting a penny from me for making my life incre stressful while providing nothing!
Choice Van Lines misrepresented how much volume of my furniture I had. I clearly told the lady representative Jen on the phone I had 10,000 lbs and they still put 510 cf. (3570 lbs) on my contract. They have on their contract if you cancel for any reason including them not getting your volume of furniture right. They want your bank account information and not your debit card so you can’t dispute the charge. Wouldn’t recommend them. Matter of fact read the contract and enter their estimated volume in ChatGPT to see if it’s enough for what you have in your house. Don’t sign until everything is right on the contract. Because you won’t be able to dispute the charge from your bank account. I give them no stars because I lost $1000. Don’t book with them. I had 3 bed 2.5 bath home and they said my contract only allowed me to use 1/3 of their 26ft moving truck. They told me to leave some stuff behind. Never again. Lesson learned.
The team was on time and efficient all day. They were wrapped up well and there was not any damage during the move. We are pleased!
