There was a late night packing job which we hadn't completed. The crew guys assisted us in wrapping the last items without hesitation. We can’t begin to thank them!
The move started off poorly because the movers arrived much later than expected. I had planned my day around the agreed schedule, so the delay was frustrating. The loading also took longer than necessary. Overall, I was not satisfied with the service.
I noticed damage to one of my household items after the move was completed. I had expected the movers to take extra care with larger furniture pieces. The overall handling did not give me much confidence. This was not the service I was expecting.
I create marionettes and hand puppets. Each one has its own personality. The crew treated my puppets like they were alive. They asked their names. They packed them with care. When we arrived, they helped me set up my small puppet theater. It was a joyful and whimsical move.
I hired Choice Vanline to move from VA to MN. I never received information about the ETA for the movers and my representative was very uncommunicative. On the first day of the two day moving window, I still did not have an ETA or any communication from my representative. Attempts to email the company at the provided email showed the email as "invalid". I had to go with another moving company. I contacted customer support to get a refund and they refused. They took $2000 dollars with no service. I do not recommend using this moving company.
To move from a duplex with narrow hallways was difficult but the movers did fine with them. They did a terrific job!
I hired Choice Vanlines for my interstate move. Before signing, I went through my inventory with their salesperson, Rachell, by phone and video, and received an estimate of $9,550. Rachell also told me that Choice Vanlines was the carrier, which was an important reason I chose them. On moving day, however, We Haul Moving Services showed up to perform the move. At pickup, We Haul blamed Choice Vanlines for preparing an inadequate estimate and emphasized that Choice was only the broker. For example, although I had disclosed a “twin bed,” Choice failed to include its dimensions, and We Haul then used that omission to add cubic footage and increase the price. Throughout the dispute, the two companies appeared to shift responsibility back and forth, leaving me caught between them while the price continued to increase. The price increased from $9,550 to more than $15,000. When I contacted Rachell, she told me her quote was only an estimate and that she was not accountable for the final price. This was extremely frustrating because I had relied on the inventory process, video walkthrough and what she told me before paying my deposit. I refused the major increase and asked We Haul to stay within the original cubic footage. The loading was poorly organized, with portions of bed frames loaded while matching pieces were left behind. I was also charged approximately $1,991.25 for packing/labor. When I asked them to load the remaining bed-frame components so the beds could actually be reassembled, I was told it would further increase the price. At one point, I asked about canceling the move and paying for the work already performed so I could get my belongings back. The truck door was shut with my belongings inside, which made me extremely concerned about regaining access to my property. When I was going to call the police, a We Haul manager called me, and we were eventually able to work toward a resolution. If you are considering an interstate mover, get everything in writing before paying a deposit. Confirm who the actual carrier will be and make sure every item's quantity, description, and dimensions are documented. If you have already paid a deposit and face a large increase at pickup, don't panic and don't feel pressured to accept it. Document everything. Keep your estimates, contracts, bill of lading, texts, emails, photos, and payment records. I eventually got my belongings back after numerous calls and careful documentation. I also obtained a police incident report and made it clear that if my belongings were not returned within the 30-day delivery period I had been given, I was prepared to file complaints with the appropriate authorities. I am sharing my experience because I hope it helps someone else protect themselves and know that they still have options. Based on my experience, I would not use Choice Vanlines or We Haul Moving Services again.
The team was on time and efficient all day. They were wrapped up well and there was not any damage during the move. We are pleased!

My experience was extremely frustrating from beginning to end, particularly when it came to scheduling, communication, and unexpected pricing issues. My pickup was originally scheduled for Wednesday, then moved to Thursday, and ultimately pushed to Friday. The arrival was also significantly later than expected. These changes created a major disruption to my moving plans and caused considerable inconvenience. What made the situation even more frustrating was the discussion regarding an approximately $4,300 increase in the moving cost. From my perspective, the inventory had not materially changed, yet additional cubic footage and pricing were brought up during the move. I was also told I could contact Mark Anderson regarding my concerns, but I was unable to get a response from him. There was also communication between the foreman and another person regarding additional cubic footage and pricing, which left me extremely concerned about how the charges were being determined. After all of these issues, I was left with a $1,673 reservation balance, which Choice Van Lines is now attempting to collect. After speaking with their account specialist, they offered to reduce the balance by 50% to $836.50 as a “settlement in full.” The fact that they were willing to immediately reduce the amount by half only added to my concerns about the legitimacy and fairness of the original balance. I declined the settlement and advised them that I intend to dispute the matter through the appropriate channels. To be clear, my complaint is not simply about the inconvenience of a delayed move. It is about the overall lack of communication, repeated scheduling changes, pricing concerns, and the way the additional charges were handled. Moving is already stressful enough without having to constantly worry about whether the schedule and price you agreed to will actually be honored. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully document everything, keep copies of all estimates and communications, and make sure they fully understand how additional charges can be assessed before proceeding. Based on my experience, I would not use Choice Van Lines again and cannot recommend them to others.
We moved on a very hot day. The team was determined in the heat, focused and went the distance, without shortcuts. We applaud them!
