The crew was energetic and professional in their approach, as they moved from a multi-story townhouse which was daunting. Outstanding effort!
No star. They quoted me a little under 5k for my move for a 26' truck with a lift gate and farmed it out to a sub they work with that thought It was half a truck and that company apologized and said they couldn't do it unless I paid almost 11k. I am now renting a truck on a holiday weekend to deliver a museum exhibit. They told me that my 2k deposit was Un refundable and then told me that the guy that I book this with got my financial details wrong so they haven't been paid. Good luck getting a penny from me for making my life incre stressful while providing nothing!
We told the company we couldn't afford more than 2,500. They took our measurements of our stuff we needed moved from California to Wisconsin. They agreed to the 2,500 and had us put down a 1,500 deposit. When the company showed up it wasn't even the company we contracted with. We weren't there when they picked it up. They then told up we had to pay an additional 1,500 and if we didn't pay then they would leave but we would lose our deposit. Then third company that dropped it off called us the day before and at first told us that they were not sure that their truck would fit to deliver it and told us we might need to do a "soft launch" for an additional 600-700 more. We refused and told them their truck would have no issues getting to our house. It was delivered then with no more up charges. One of the chairs were broken upon delivery and we were told we have a wounded soldier then they took all of the moving blankets we were told by the second company that we purchased.
I create marionettes and hand puppets. Each one has its own personality. The crew treated my puppets like they were alive. They asked their names. They packed them with care. When we arrived, they helped me set up my small puppet theater. It was a joyful and whimsical move.
There was a late night packing job which we hadn't completed. The crew guys assisted us in wrapping the last items without hesitation. We can’t begin to thank them!
"My experience with Choice Vanlines was negative from start to finish. It started off with salesman Mike reassuring me that Choice Vanlines could not only get the job done in the specific delivery window I needed, but was absolutely not a broker. When the date for the pickup came, it was not Choice Vanlines. It was a third party company, who was actually very good, but that was the first red flag. I'm not sure why I expected honesty from a salesman, but I guess that's my fault. The delivery was suppose to occur on Friday, August 7th. When I was not contacted the day before or day of, I called Choice and requested information and a location on the delivery. The single customer service representative was severely lacking in customer service skills, and simply read pre-determined responses from a script. It did not matter that I was extremely desperate needing information so I could either modify my flight, or extend my hotel stay to accommodate a late delivery beyond the window that had been agreed to. Her responses were simply, ""sir we'll call you when we have an update, and the driver will call you the day before delivery."" This was repeated with every alternate attempt to obtain location information of the delivery. My desperation came to a boiling point today, where I called the third party company to see if they could provide any information. I was not even expecting anyone to answer, and within 15 minutes, I had all the information I was looking for. Again, this is from the company who was not even supposed to be moving me. They reassured me that the window was still intact, and I would be receiving a call today. They even gave me the time and date specific delivery windows (I'll be leaving a five star rating for that outfit). I've moved several times over the past 10 years for work, and I've never experienced such a stressful move. I've never even left a review, but this experience has forced me to warn others about this moving company. I attempted calling Mike several times, leaving voicemails and sending emails, but it's as though he's fallen off the face of the earth. The customer service representative was again, useless. I'm not sure why she even answers the phone just to read off boilerplate statements. Buyer beware of Choice Vanlines for long distance moves."
Customer support was friendly and helpful, but the moving crew was extremely slow. They had the proper equipment but still carried one box at a time. My move was only 17 minutes away, and it still took 4 hours. I've had larger moves completed much faster. I wouldn't hire them again.
We moved on a very hot day. The team was determined in the heat, focused and went the distance, without shortcuts. We applaud them!
To move from a duplex with narrow hallways was difficult but the movers did fine with them. They did a terrific job!
