I wouldn't hire them again.

Customer support was friendly and helpful, but the moving crew was extremely slow. They had the proper equipment but still carried one box at a time. My move was only 17 minutes away, and it still took 4 hours. I've had larger moves completed much faster. I wouldn't hire them again.

Terrible communication on important matters.

The movers did not arrive at the agreed time, which immediately put the whole schedule behind. I had to wait around without receiving a clear update about their arrival. The loading process was also slower than expected. Overall, it was a frustrating start to the move.

I have over 200 completed jigsaw puzzles framed and mounted on my walls. Most movers would panic. This crew measured each frame, wrapped them in foam, and built custom slots in the truck. Nothing shifted. Nothing cracked. They even helped me rehang every single one in my new home. My masterpiece wall survived. I was speechless.

Broken agreements.

I hired Choice Van Lines to move me from Manhattan to New Jersey. On August 17th, they came and only took half of the things because of my square footage and then asked for another $4,000 to move the rest. I did not pay them. However, it is four days later and I haven't received my belongings.I've called customer service numerous times and the broker and no one seems to know where the driver is or wants to help me. So, cautionary tale: don't use Choice Van Lines if you're moving interstate. Additionally, what could they improve? Probably calling to let somebody know when they're coming. I was told they would come between 12 and 3, and they were much later; what could they improvecommunication and caring: calling in ahead, returning calls, and taken action on unprofessional behavior.

Careful Handling, Minimal Downtime.

Running a small-batch chocolate business from home means I have tempering machines, molds, and a lot of temperature-sensitive ingredients. The crew treated my equipment like it belonged in a laboratory. They kept my cocoa butter in a climate-controlled section of the truck. When we arrived, everything was intact and my business was back up within two days.

Terrible Service.

"My experience with Choice Vanlines was negative from start to finish. It started off with salesman Mike reassuring me that Choice Vanlines could not only get the job done in the specific delivery window I needed, but was absolutely not a broker. When the date for the pickup came, it was not Choice Vanlines. It was a third party company, who was actually very good, but that was the first red flag. I'm not sure why I expected honesty from a salesman, but I guess that's my fault. The delivery was suppose to occur on Friday, August 7th. When I was not contacted the day before or day of, I called Choice and requested information and a location on the delivery. The single customer service representative was severely lacking in customer service skills, and simply read pre-determined responses from a script. It did not matter that I was extremely desperate needing information so I could either modify my flight, or extend my hotel stay to accommodate a late delivery beyond the window that had been agreed to. Her responses were simply, ""sir we'll call you when we have an update, and the driver will call you the day before delivery."" This was repeated with every alternate attempt to obtain location information of the delivery. My desperation came to a boiling point today, where I called the third party company to see if they could provide any information. I was not even expecting anyone to answer, and within 15 minutes, I had all the information I was looking for. Again, this is from the company who was not even supposed to be moving me. They reassured me that the window was still intact, and I would be receiving a call today. They even gave me the time and date specific delivery windows (I'll be leaving a five star rating for that outfit). I've moved several times over the past 10 years for work, and I've never experienced such a stressful move. I've never even left a review, but this experience has forced me to warn others about this moving company. I attempted calling Mike several times, leaving voicemails and sending emails, but it's as though he's fallen off the face of the earth. The customer service representative was again, useless. I'm not sure why she even answers the phone just to read off boilerplate statements. Buyer beware of Choice Vanlines for long distance moves."

I noticed damage to one of my household items after the move was completed. I had expected the movers to take extra care with larger furniture pieces. The overall handling did not give me much confidence. This was not the service I was expecting.
