I’m not sure how amerisafe receives a 92% satisfaction rating here. It has been one of the worst experiences of my life in regards to a move. Andrew Williams did nothing but lie to me throughout the entire process from start to finish. He promised that I was purchasing a package that included packing all of my elderly parents belongings throughout their home. Even went as far as to say that this would be the easiest move that they had ever made! What a crock of crap… When the movers FINALLY arrived, they were an hour late. Then they sat in the truck for 45 minutes doing “paperwork.” They walked into the house and wanted to know why we weren’t packed! They claimed to know nothing about us paying for packing service, nothing about taking our belongings to a warehouse to be stored, and said that if they did take our belongings, they would have to be ridden around in the back of the truck while they made other pickups and deliveries. I was told that the movers would be from our area and our things stored locally in northeast Louisiana. The movers stated they were from Missouri, and that’s where I things would be! Then when I called amerisafe customer service while the movers were still at the location to be packed up, the rep asked to speak to the driver. He didn’t know that I had him on speaker phone, and he made fun of me for thinking that they were supposed to pack, and laughed at me. The rep said that we were supposed to pack the boxes that they sold us prior to them arriving. They brought the boxes with them, so that was impossible!!!! Plus, we paid for 20 boxes, and they brought less than 10…. After all that, they had the nerve to hand me a new bill for over $10,000!!! I had paid a down payment of $1900.00 and was supposed to pay $1200.00 when they picked up the furniture and belongings in Louisiana and another $1200.00 when they unloaded in Mississippi. Needless to say, we sent them on their way without using their services. Crooked company so BEWARE!!!!!!!!

The moving team was absolutely outstanding! They were very courteous and careful with our furniture. They worked hard and were also very efficient. We were very pleased with your company and have already recommended you to one of our new neighbors who is moving!!
I would give 0 stars if I could. They were extremely unprofessional and constantly contradicted each other. Their estimate they gave to us was off by $6000. They admitted they weren’t very good at their jobs when giving estimates but said oh well too bad for you. Their company is an absolute scam. They make it difficult to reach them, they don’t allow you to locate where in transit your items are or at least make it difficult. They are not the route to go if you’d like a company that doesn’t scam you and breaks all your things.
On 7/29/24 I have email communication from John Wyville at AmeriSafe movers that they could do the job on July 2nd or 3rd in a binding estimate. He assured me in writing 3 things – it would be a direct move from my home to NC (no warehouse), that their company would be doing the move (not subcontracted with a rental truck and day laborers), and that my inventory and cubic feet was accurate @ 705 cubic feet. He assured me that there would be no issues with the cubic feet. The movers show up from Cobra Van Lines on July 2nd and have my Dad sign a bill of lading for 1200 cubic feet before they ever come in the house. They also tell him that they were dropping my belongings off in a warehouse in Chicago to await being put on a semi to North Carolina. I called John from the airport in tears and he says I will have to pay for the overage since my dad signed but that I would be able to get a refund from AmeriSafe. I was told that he would “make this right, whatever it takes – even if it has to come from my own pocket” by John. He says he’s going to forward it to customer service and someone would reach out. The person from customer service reached out and literally laughed when I relayed the conversation with John Wyville, Senior Moving Coordinator. She said that 1200 cubic feet were signed for and that is what I had to pay if I wanted my things back. I call Cobra Van Lines and ask for photos of 1200 cubic feet actually being used in the truck and was told that they don’t do that. The evening of July 5th I get a text from the delivery driver saying he will be at my house on the 6th of July. My belongings arrive on time and undamaged but while they were putting my furniture back together we couldn’t find a hardware box. I asked if I could go look in the truck and was told that I could. The box wasn’t in the truck either. ALL my items had been offloaded at that time and I was surprised at how small the space was. There were several deliveries on the truck – it was packed completely full – and I had been the first stop. I decided to measure the space (and took video of me doing so). The dimensions were 142 x 108 x 100 inches. Had I used up every square inch of available space (which is impossible), the very maximum I could have used would be 887 cubic feet. That is even counting the space right in front of the door which someone else’s king mattress was taking up.
We had an excellent experience with AmeriSafe Moving Services during our interstate move. The crew was punctual, professional, and careful with all our belongings. Communication was clear throughout the process, and everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. Their pricing was fair, and we were pleased with the overall service. I would gladly recommend them to anyone planning a long-distance move.
Amerisafe Moving Services and their carrier, S&DJ Moving, owes me a partial delivery of my belongings. The carrier has promised and failed to deliver 15 times now. Over 10k in damages, 25 business days past the first delivery date and half of our items are still missing. Amerisafe keeps ignoring us and pushing any complaints off. Most of the boxes we paid to pack are between 1/2 to 3/4 full, and most of the breakables we have were wrapped in paper towels or tablecloths.
My experience with AmeriSafe Moving Services was top-notch from start to finish. The moving team arrived right on schedule, worked efficiently, and handled all of our furniture and boxes with great care. Communication throughout the move was clear, and there were no hidden surprises or price changes at delivery. They took all the stress out of our relocation. I would highly recommend AmeriSafe Moving Services to anyone planning a move!
Literally a terrible experience all around. Please read this whole thing, I genuinely have no words to describe how awful this has been. First - they quoted us a lower price, then arrived and tried to upcharge. Second - they arrived, looked at my apartment (even though we'd already given an estimate and detailed list of what would be moved), and said they couldn't do it because they didn't have enough space in the van, or enough time. They said they didn't know it wasn't all going to be packed already and didn't bring any boxes or tape. We HAD paid for a full pack and move. They LEFT and didn't come back until the next day, which meant I had to move my flight as I was supposed to be leaving the next day but needed to stay to direct the movers. I also ended up packing more than half the stuff myself, as there was a time crunch, and I was still paying them for "full pack" even though they didn't do most of it. Third - the people AmeriSafe contracted only spoke Spanish and couldn't communicate with me. As such, when I told them to be careful with fragile items, like my PC, they didn't understand me. I watched them drop my $4,000 PC on the ground, and then shove it into the box unceremoniously. Fourth - they didn't label any of the boxes, so I have no idea what was in anything. Five - it's been well over a month and a half, and I have no update on where my stuff is. Last I heard, it's still in the original state. I've tried calling AmeriSafe several times, DURING BUSINESS HOURS, and leaving multiple voicemails to ask for a status update, and I've not heard anything back. I just literally don't have my stuff. In the face of what was already a traumatic move, hence the time crunch, they seem to have just run off with my stuff and my valuable items, which are likely broken now anyway due to the treatment and handling of them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are incredibly unprofessional and fail to respond. A literal scam.
