It only took a few hours to move out of our little apartment. They clearly marked each box – this helped when unpacking. We will certainly hire them again!
I reached out to Americas Family & Moving Services for a long-distance move that involved my entire three-bedroom home. I was honestly dreading it: furniture, fragile kitchen stuff, kids’ toys, you name it. However, everything was packed professionally and labeled clearly, and I was kept informed throughout the entire process. When I arrived, not a single thing was missing or broken. I felt like they truly knew how to manage distance moves.
We had a full garage's worth of outdoor equipment, gardening tools, and bikes to move along with the house. I wasn’t sure how they’d pack it all, but they sorted it out efficiently. Even our large gas grill was wrapped properly and arrived in one piece. They loaded and unloaded without a fuss, and everything was still clean and intact at the other end.
This was, without a doubt, the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. What I thought was a professional moving company turned out to be a broker — a middleman who grossly underestimated the cubic footage, lied about delivery dates, and then handed off the job to completely different movers with no accountability. Communication was horrendous from start to finish. Every question I asked was met with vague or conflicting answers, and once they had my deposit, it felt like they vanished. The movers who actually showed up were completely disconnected from the broker I originally hired. They damaged several items, and to add insult to injury, the “highest-tier insurance” was completely worthless. The final cost was far more than the original quote, and I learned the hard way that the brokers take a massive cut — leaving the actual movers underpaid, which puts your entire delivery at risk. It’s a shady, broken system run by people who clearly lack integrity and honesty. I genuinely don’t understand how this company has any positive reviews. I suspect many of them are fake. If you value your time, money, and belongings, stay far away from this company and any broker-based moving service. Total scam.
The crew appeared with all the supplies like blankets, dollies and tape. We needed no help, and didn't have to ask for it. They're a recommended read for all!
I moved out of a third-floor walk-up with no elevator and way too much furniture. I thought something would definitely get scratched or broken, but the movers navigated everything without a single issue. They were organized, efficient, and really knew what they were doing. I felt completely at ease once they got started. It was honestly impressive to watch them work.
The most important thing we had to worry about on our move was the upright freezer, which was heavy, awkward and large. It was wrapped well, placed upright in the moving truck and was the first thing they unloaded at the new location. The rest of the items were also delivered safely. We are happy with them!
They wrapped up everything with the same care, no matter the value, as they did with our high end heirloom furniture!
