team were absolutely fantastic. Quick, efficient, and were incredibly skilled at fitting everything in my trailer. I cannot recommend this company enough. If you want your move to go as smoothly as possible, you will go with American Way Moving
The most unprofessional moving company, I have ever seen. They spent ridiculous amount of time wrapping my “ikea” furniture with stretch film although I asked them not to do it number of times. They did everything to spend extra 2 - 3 hours. When we came for drop off, they stayed 10 mins more to charge me for extra half an hour. On top of these, my 2 accessories were broken. Shortly don’t hire with them if you don’t want to waste your money.
If only i can give negative star i would. From the start, I had concerns about Christy White, the lady who quoted me. She was overly pushy, insisted on staying on the phone even when I said I'd call back, and gave me a low quote of $2924 to secure the job. After paying, she became unreachable. On pickup day, a different company showed up a United Speed Movers, claiming to be affiliates of American Movers, and demanded more money or they'd refuse my items a total of $5943. Despite Christy promising delivery within 2-4 days it become one week, the customer service representative I spoke to later seemed dismissive and unhelpful, citing human limitations and unforeseen circumstances like mudslides (which weren't an issue when they arrived). Things escalated when, a day before delivery, someone they demanded an additional $800 for shuttle services due to truck size issues. They should arrive Thursday of July 17 but they arrived Friday, and despite knowing my schedule that I'm leaving that day so my scheduled got delayed because of them, they sent a U-Haul with two workers who didn't seem professional - one couldn't speak English, and they lacked necessary tools, making me dig out my own to assemble furniture. To top it off, one of the workers took my water camera while handling my belongings and go through my stuff. I message them and no response from them. You cant reach any of them anymore. Even the email of the receipt you cant open it anymore. The lack of communication and care after payment has been shocking. This has been my worst experience with movers, and I'm still dealing with the aftermath. So please please please don't take this company they are scammers.
We had an amazing experience with American Way Moving! They arrived on time, worked quickly, made sure all our furniture and personal items were handled with care and even disassembled and reassembled our furniture. They were friendly and professional and our final price came out quite close to the estimate we got initially. Definitely recommend them!!!

They took great care with moving my furniture and worked efficiently. Could not ask for a smoother moving experience. Love this moving company.
This was honestly the worst possible imaginable experience. Not only did the scheduler pretend to cut us deals the movers then told us wouldn’t be honored, he insulted our furniture and apartment, constantly threw us attitude, broke some of our items, and proceeded to mock me for offering water because I should have been “offering something stronger”. He even told my neighbor he would make the move last as long as possible because he “deserved more than he was getting for such a s*** job”. I cried for an hour after he left. I’m aware companies have different movers and I can only hope he is their worst one. They told me I could charge another card at the end of services and then they waited 2 days to call me and because I was at work and couldn’t answer they threatened to charge the original card and did not pull back until I pointed out they didn’t call me when they said they would. This was truly a nightmare and I would have paid more to be treated with respect like a human being. I will never use them again and truly never want to be contacted by any member of this company again as I do not believe they are honest. The final amount we were charged even ended up being more than the paperwork we signed when the movers left. I truly don’t even feel safe with them having my card or contact info now and I’m terrified they will harass me again.
I contracted American Way Movers for an interstate move from Pittsburgh to Nashville, and it was one of the worst consumer experiences I’ve ever had. Misrepresentation: They presented themselves as a moving company, but they are actually a broker. This was never made clear until the day of the move. False Promises: I was verbally assured multiple times — even days before the move — that my belongings would be delivered directly within 1–2 days. When the carrier arrived, they told me, “Oh, they lied to you,” and my delivery ended up taking five weeks. Bait-and-Switch Pricing: Despite reviewing my inventory multiple times and assuring me it would fit in the truck space I paid for, the carrier claimed I had 2–3x too much stuff and demanded hundreds more dollars to load it. No Accountability: Once my items were picked up, American Way Movers told me they had no obligation to me and that any issues with the carrier were not their responsibility — even though they hired the carrier. Customer Service Nightmare: There’s one phone number. You’ll wait on hold for 30+ minutes, only to be hung up on. No one returns calls. No one helps. No Claims Support: Now that I’m trying to file a claim, there is no contact info or support available. This company fits the profile of every moving scam listed on the FTC’s website. I strongly urge others to avoid this broker and seek out reputable, direct moving companies instead.
This company sucks. I used them twice within 4 months, both times my stuff was broken. The first time, they tried to barter system me by offering me two 32-inch TVs to replace them, breaking my 42-inch tv, and a used a.c. and was upset. I refused because I wanted what I had, not what you offered me. The second time, the movers came with attitudes from the beginning because they had to move my stuff from my apartment and store the 4th floor walk up. But that's a moving company's job. They threw my stuff and literally played suicide with my stuff, throwing bags and boxes like they were balling. They put my mattress bare on their truck and didn't wrap it or nothing. The disrespect was real. When I called to complain during the move they called the movers which made them madder. Honey, these ppl tried to offer me $500 for 2k of damages they did to my property. Talking about insurance only covers up to $500. If you broke someone's iMac computer, u think they gonna take $500. They tried to negotiate terribly, still lowballing me for a move they botched. The owner said he fired the 4 movers who completed my move. I don't believe him. They also said they mailed me a check but cash app me the money the day I was supposed to get it. Scammers and terrible ones. I had to buy back a lot of stuff that I already purchased for my new apartment. They definitely took the JOY out of the new apartment milestone for me and my kids.
AMAZING!! These guys crushed it. I had booked with a different company and they canceled on me last minute. With less than 24 hours notice, the best movers were able to support my move date and even the time slot of my desire! Was moving through a personally challenging experience which is what caused me to move and everyone at American Way Moving from the operations to the labor were phenomenal. They all had such positive vibrant energy, really up lifting my spirits and making the process quick and simple. I will only ever use them moving from now one while in Charlotte. 10/10 would recommend.
They had 2 people show up. But one stayed in the truck the majority of the time. All heavy furniture including mattresses, couches, and dressers were carried by one person and were dragged across the ground and severely damaged. I purchased the simplest “insurance” plan as an extra coverage just in case. When I wrote out in the end what was damaged, they said there was a maximum $75 per piece they would reimburse me because I had not chosen a higher policy. IMO when I purchased the policy, I purchased it as a safety net against “accidental” damage, not a catch-all for poor quality service through an entire job. No one that works there is strong. Especially one person who has to carry huge pieces of furniture. Very disappointing. I also do not think they had enough equipment to do the job. My mattress was literally out of the bag and dragged across the ground. Sectional couch with tear. Would never recommend.
