I had to move from Miami, FL to Raleigh, NC for a new position. America First Moving handled my 2 bedroom apartment perfectly. They packed everything safely, communicated the entire way, and delivered right on time.
I moved from Dallas, Texas to Tampa, Florida for a new start after college. America First Moving made it all stress-free. They handled my long-distance move like pros, keeping me updated until everything was delivered safely.
Moving from Albany, New York to Morgantown, West Virginia felt overwhelming at first. America First Moving explained each step clearly and kept things running smoothly. The movers were respectful, efficient, and careful with every box and piece of furniture.
Complete scam. They sent a third party to move my stuff, who demanded an extra $2500 to do the job, which I had to pay. I felt like I was being blackmailed. I had to agree to the extra payment because I needed to move my stuff ASAP, and they took advantage of it. Never had such a bad experience with a mover.
My relocation from Naples, FL to Columbus, OH couldn’t have gone better thanks to America First Moving. They were on time, worked hard, and made sure every piece of furniture was wrapped and protected.
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.
America First Moving helped us move from Tampa, FL to Atlanta, GA. It was a 4-bedroom house, and I honestly thought it would take forever to pack, but they worked super quickly and still managed to keep everything organized. They even wrapped our old dining set that’s been in the family for years like it was their own. We were really impressed with the level of care and how professional they were the entire time.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
Thanks to America First Moving, I got their best services twice. All the staff, even the movers, were impeccable. They were not only the first to respond when I asked for quotes from 5 other movers, but they also had the best pricing by far. The movers were extremely careful with my furniture and used their time excellently. We heartily suggest them for an easy move!
I relocated from Rochester, NY to Tampa, FL and America First Moving handled everything with impressive professionalism. The crew showed up right on schedule, carefully wrapped all of my furniture, and stayed very organized throughout the loading process. Delivery arrived within the expected timeframe and every item was in excellent condition.
