My family recently relocated from Denver, Colorado to Raleigh, North Carolina after my company offered me a transfer. We had so many boxes, toys, and furniture pieces that I didn’t know where to start. America First Moving took control of everything. They were efficient but never careless, and their friendly attitude made the process surprisingly enjoyable. Our moving day felt organized and calm, which I never thought I’d say about a cross-country move.
My fiancé and I moved from our apartment in Fort Lauderdale to our first house in Naples, Florida. America First Moving handled everything — from packing dishes to moving our sectional couch upstairs. They were on time and professional all day long.
Our family needed to relocate from Tampa, Florida to Charlotte, North Carolina after accepting a new job opportunity. With three bedrooms and years of accumulated belongings, we were overwhelmed. Complete scam. They sent a third party to move my stuff, who demanded an extra $2500 to do the job, which I had to pay. I felt like I was being blackmailed. I had to agree to the extra payment because I needed to move my stuff ASAP, and they took advantage of it. Never had such a bad experience with a mover.
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.
